Michael Cardillo grew up in Washington township, New Jersey. He graduated from Ramapo College with a four-year business degree in Business Administration, with concentration in marketing and management. At the beginning of his college education, he wanted to major in accounting, but he switched, because he decided that after college he aspired to run his family business. When he graduated in 1988, he started working in telecommunications industry and has been in this field till today. His first job was in the management department of Sprint, and he worked there since 2015. His dream was to learn all about managing people or projects, and have a career as a manager or director in a profitable corporation.

Cardillo was about his evaluation process. Each year people receive objectives which they have to complete, and they are reviewed at different times during the year, so they can stay on track, “When I evaluate employees, I look at how they perform in their jobs, how they treat fellow employees, and also how the treat me”. Similarly, it is important to know if they need additional training to help them for future objectives. If they worked hard though, attained their goals, and mostly have done a good job, they deserve a suitable review from their manger. Mr. Cardillo wants all the people who work for him to be successful, and this is what makes him a great manager; thinking about others and not only about himself. Cardillo talked about his daily challenges that he experiences. Each day brings new challenges in his work place. Sometimes it can be an equipment for a project that is late or does not work, and other times are people who need more training, and I just need to give them time, that sometimes I don’t have. Other challenges that we, as a company face are meetings with customers that have not gone well. Typically, it’s staying focused, knowing how to manage people and different personalities, but other times it can get frustrating. These times are when Mr. Cardillo feels that he can’t do anything about the problem and he just has to wait for someone’s help. When he hears of a problem, he immediately looks into what happened. Mr. Cardillo talks with the people involved and also see if there was a process that was supposed to be followed, and if they followed it. He always gets every side of the story, and he also gets any information on his own about the situation. What caused it, who caused it, why did it happen, could it have been avoided, and other similar questions like these are always on his mind, while he is trying to find answers.
