What makes a hero? There are many different mental forms of a hero and a hero can be motivated by anything and not just their actions. Heroes end up saving lives and whilst they do that, they end up changing the world. Heroes do not only exist in a fantasy world, but also our everyday lives.
Mental aspects of a hero are nearly, if not the most important features that they can have. Fear is the main thing that people have to overcome in order to become a hero. Also, people that become heroes tend to be more concerned about other people’s well-beings instead of their own. Another mental aspect as well as caring and fear is also being able to see the entire situation through the perspective of others. Heroes do not give up when they have a fear of something. An example of this is when a person goes into a burning building to save someone. This does not

Heroes act selflessly and their actions are not usually motivated by their own interests. For example, they could be in need of revenge. The revenge can turn out to be heroic if the crime cannot be resolved or the regular authorities are not willing to punish them. Another motivation for becoming a hero is that they may feel as if in order to be able to fit into today’s society and gain acceptance, they will have to accomplish something that people will remember them by, it will have to be something good and not bad so they they do not receive hate from it. Hatred is known to motivate others and makes them stronger. Mike Jackson says “there are no heroes today.” This is un true because everyday someone does a good deed for someone else and that will make them a hero. Just because what they did for another person does not get posted all over social media and the news does not mean that they are not a hero. Society only likes to post about the bad things happening in the world and not acknowledge the good things that people have been motivated to
Heroes are made by the paths they choose, not the powers they are graced with.” -Brodi Ashton. This shines true but is overlooked in today's society . A hero in today's society clashes with the genuine meaning of hero. A hero is someone who is sacrificial, selfless, and modest. A hero is somebody who is bold and valiant and to a great degree dedicated to something. A hero is a selfless individual who puts and the needs of others before their without seeking any attention for fame. A heroic person is prepared to yield his/her life for society and for what is best for the people. These qualities are constant throughout time. They may change a little bit depending on the society's values. Some heroes throughout history are Odysseus, Stephen Kumalo,
Over the course of history the definition of what makes a hero has made many changes. Beowulf, Superman, and firefighters are all examples of heroes, but they are very different when broken down. Today’s society defines a hero by his values, his strength, and his journey.
The only question is what makes someone a hero? Features of what it means to be a hero are shown throughout Anglo-Saxon main values. One of the most renowned works from that time period is Beowulf. The story tells us of how one man,
Over the course of time, there have been many distinct heroes with significant characteristics. A hero can be viewed and described many different ways depending on the person. They may be courageous, intelligent, kind, tough, or even troublesome. However, the more common ‘hero’ is revered to be physically brave and intellectually smart. Although one may be intellectually smart, that is not truthfully what makes them a hero. A hero is someone who sacrifices themselves for the benefit of others and is courageous and brave.
What makes a hero? A hero can be born into greatness and lead an ordinary life. A hero can achieve and glory greatness and carry a noble death to their name. What turns an individual into the characteristic of a “hero” will depend on the journey they set upon. From ancient Greek culture, the concept of a hero was built from idolizing a religious figure, a deceased person who received cult honors and was expected to return home bearing prosperity in forms of plants or animals, back to their people. The narrative of our literary heroes deals with a person who is mortal, unlike the Gods, and has to suffer the struggles of their fear of death during their journey to achieve glory and create peace in their world. A hero is supported by other characters, but ultimately fights against evil on their own. A hero's origin is merely the basis for leaving an everlasting impression on the world.
Joseph Campbell once said “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” This quotes talks about how in order to be a hero, you have to care about other people. It really emphasizes that you cannot be a true hero if you only care about yourself. All traits and functions that people would consider heroic involve others, not just themselves. There are so many heroic traits out there, but 3 are very important. A true hero is courageous, will rescue others in need, and does not look down on people who are not privileged.
Heros are important because of all the good that they do. “Heros represent the best of ourselves, respecting that we are human beings. A hero can be anyone from Gandhi to your classroom teacher, anyone who can show courage when faced with a problem. A hero is someone who is willing to help others in his or her best capacity” (Ricky Martin). In other words heros see a challenge and head towards them with determination. They also exceed way beyond expectation and they do not always have to be big strong, good looking
what is a hero? A hero doesn't always have to be have to be a special individual saving another hopeful soul from a burning building, or being born as an extraordinary individual who has the powers to save lives. A hero could be anyone whose daily acts go unnoticed, and could never be heard. People spend their days doing these things without any notice the act of heroism. Heros can be anywhere without anyone noticing these simple jobs that they do to help others. Heroes can be blind to the human eye but can be notice by the simple acts of strength and selflessness inside them. Although some hero acts go unheard of, heroes can be selfless people, who take up the courage to fight for things bigger than oneself.
The Hero is one of the most common archetypes. Heroes are great people that do good deeds for the sake of everyone rather than personal gain. As a hero you are someone that people revere and respect. There are a few requirements for a character or a person to be considered a hero. These requirements are:
An English proverb states, “ A hero is a man who is afraid to run away”. I agree with this proverb, because when you see a hero in a comic book, they have super cool back stories, are not afraid to fight, and stare danger in the face and not blink. They are not afraid of anything. That’s nice to look up to, but they are not real. Our definition of a hero is too much for one man to become, you can do something honorable, heroic, but you will never actually be a hero because it's too much, in real life. Heroes don’t just do it so they can get paid, or respect. What really determines whether someone is a hero is if they choose to do something about it in a bad situation. We have people that do heroic acts, for example, people putting their lives before others. Those people cannot be heroes because they get paid to do it, they are, firefighters, cops, and military, they get paid to help people, so they aren't considered a hero.
What I personally believe makes a hero, is a person that is brave and courageous. Courage is one of the biggest characteristics you need to be considered a hero. Heroism is all about how far you’ll go to protect or serve the people and how far you go is all about how much courage and bravery you have to take such quality to the next level.
Now, to explain the definition of hero. A hero is a person that has skills of nobility, strength, and brains. If someone is going to be a hero having these qualities would come in handy because a person needs to be a strong individual to be able to make it through wars and be able to be smart to think of where the places would be to hide while in war. Making the most important decisions is also part of what a hero does because they are the people who are supposed to protect everyone else. “Tragic Hero.” Dictionary.com. Dictionary.com, n.d. There are many qualities that people think a hero should have. To name a few of those qualities there is; courage, determination, focus, compassion, dedication, honesty, loyalty, responsibility, and wisdom. (http://www.personalitytutor.com/qualities-of-a-hero.html). Most people believe these are very important qualities to have, probably because they themselves wish they had more of those traits. Most people believe that these traits are not just traits of “superheroes”; they are also the traits of everyday heroes, or real heroes-not super heroes- throughout history.
When I think of a hero I immediately think of someone who is strong, intelligent, handsome, and daring. Upon closer examination, many different qualities than these become apparent. Courage, honesty, bravery, selflessness, and the will to try are just a few of the overlooked qualities of a hero. The definition of heroism changes with the context and time. Heroes of the past are not necessarily heroes of present time and vise versa.
Heroism is defined as an act of courage and an act of selflessness. They reflect the highest levels of morality in society. Heroes have embodied the morality codes of civilizations throughout the ages. When heroes display courage, observers often identify with that courage. The refusal to take the easy way out and the ability to act in spite of fear, is what makes a person a hero. This is the way everyone wishes to react in the midst of a crisis. As witnessed in literature and real life, mankind needs heroes to provide an inspirational role model, an escape from the mundane, and a guide for morality.
