What makes a Hero? What makes a hero? To me a hero is a person that does whatever is necessary to protect the people they’re serving or protecting. In the dictionary it says a hero is “a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities.” What I personally believe makes a hero, is a person that is brave and courageous. Courage is one of the biggest characteristics you need to be considered a hero. Heroism is all about how far you’ll go to protect or serve the people and how far you go is all about how much courage and bravery you have to take such quality to the next level. Integrity to me is another characteristic trait that most heroes should have because to me that characteristic trait is one of the traits that makes a hero. Integrity means to have adherence to other people’s morals and your own moral value of things. To be a hero you …show more content…
To be a hero you have to have the moxie to protect or save another person. If you don’t, then you’re probably not going to protect or save another person. You have to have determination to be a hero. You have to make yourself determined to fight or protect what you’re fighting or protecting. That’s what moxie means determination or nerve, one small word but one great characteristic trait to have to be a hero. Those characteristic traits are what I think makes a hero. We come in contact with heroes everyday. We may not know they’re heroes but whether we know or not doesn’t matter as long as the person they protected believes they are a hero. Just like the people serving our country...heroes, they are pure, true heroes. They have the courage to serve, they have the integrity to serve for America’s morals, they have the fidelity to keep their promises made to this country, and they have the determination to stand and fight for the United States of America. To me those qualities make a
A hero is someone who invests their time helping others rather than themselves. They are always conscious of their surroundings and environment. Heroes help their enemies and friends regardless of the circumstances. A hero is also someone who is humble and knows when to be protective of others and themselves. Heroes are people who acknowledge flaws, and fix mistakes, those were my own definition of a hero. In “Undocumented Immigrant”, Jose Antonio Vargas tells the truth about his illegal status in the United States. Not only was he an immigrant in the United States, he was his own hero. Vargas proved that he is a hero through code switching, bravery and honesty.
Throughout the years and to all different walks on the face of the earth, heroes exist with various meanings to each individual. It is extremely hard to put one definition to this word. What one may see as a hero, another may not. Some definitions include, a brave man, a superman, a champion, a conqueror, a victor, and a winner. This definition though varies through diverse people's eyes. A serial killer may view Charles Manson as his/her hero, while others may view someone who has favorable traits as their hero (in a good sense). It is all relevant to who people are, their identities, and whom they relate to.
Courageous, Moral, and Good are the first 3 characteristics of a hero. I believe that
The common definition of a hero today is that they have to have special powers or have some physical attribute that allows the hero to conquer his enemy's. To me a hero is not someone from comic books, or someone from a spy movie. In reality they are just people like you me. They stand up for what they believe; they speak up when someone does the wrong. They hey act not because they have "powers", but because they have and undeniable desire to do good, and the courage to act where others won't. In essence we all have these traits. Heroes have seven traits that make up who they are, these traits include; caring, open, understanding, reliable, action, goodness, and empathy. If all of these are put together, they spell out courage. Courage is what heroes had in earlier definitions.
Who is a hero? A hero has a different definition depending on who you ask. The definition always carries an opinion on who said it. To me a hero is a quick-witted leader who does not ever take the easy way out of something hard and they always function like normal people because that’s what they are. They might not be noticeable, but they will always make the greater good the priority.
“A hero is someone who voluntarily walks into the unknown.” -Tom Hanks. Remember that anyone can be a hero it's whoever steps up to the plate in taking that responsibility. A defined hero is someone who is determined, loyal and self sacrificing.
In this day and time how do we give someone that name plate of being a hero? Most would say by saving the world or something of that nature. To most people a hero has to be someone that is braver than the rest. However, a hero can be someone with special achievements, abilities, or personal qualities. In my opinion, there are certain heroic traits that you have to have to be define as a hero.
According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of a hero is as follows: a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. This definition is a key part of the “what makes a hero” argument. I believe that just because one person views someone as a hero doesn't mean everyone views that individual as a hero. It is a definition that could relate to anyone in this world because any action could show at least one of the traits, simple or large. The meaning of hero is shaped by one’s culture, personal experience, the time in which one lives, and the reasons why a figure is chosen as a hero (Topic Pages).
The definition of a hero is someone who is inspiring and wants to maIn my opinion a hero is someone who cares for people and does things for other people, or is someone who is courageous and puts themselves out of their comfort zone to help others. To me I think everyone should have someone they look up to or admire (hero) because I think that will encourage them to get out of their own comfort zone and do good things for themselves and eventually for other people.
“Being a hero doesn’t mean you’re invincible. It means you’re brave enough to stand up and do what’s needed.” (Rick Riordan) When considering heroes, characters such as Iron Man, Superman, or the Hulk probably come to mind, but these are merely comic book heroes. Fantasies. And even though everyone loves an armored billionaire who can destroy a skyscraper with one blast, a true hero isn’t someone with cool powers or a fancy suit. Rick Riordan is claiming that a hero doesn’t have to have superhuman abilities. Instead, a true hero is an ordinary person who chooses to do the right thing and to help others, even if they have to make sacrifices themself, and is selfless, able to resist temptations, brave, and humble.
“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles” (Christopher Reeve). There are several different definitions of a hero, and people have various opinions of what considers someone to uphold this title. Everyone has their own thoughts on who is a hero and what makes them a hero. What really is a hero? I believe that a hero is someone who possesses bravery, courage, selflessness, and respect, where he or she uses those traits to impact other’s lives in an unforgettable way.
When I think of a hero I immediately think of someone who is strong, intelligent, handsome, and daring. Upon closer examination, many different qualities than these become apparent. Courage, honesty, bravery, selflessness, and the will to try are just a few of the overlooked qualities of a hero. The definition of heroism changes with the context and time. Heroes of the past are not necessarily heroes of present time and vise versa.
Consequently, a hero’s characteristics can vary from each person, but most people can fairly say that a hero has to be a well-rounded individual. They are all usually courageous, compassionate, and kind. A hero cannot be a hero without taking risks
My definition of a hero is someone who gives their own time to help or reach out to others from the goodness of their heart.
Strong, muscular, big, and popular; a lot of people think of those characteristics when the topic of heroism comes up. Everyone's definition of heroism is different, but a true hero doesn’t always fall under all the stereotypes about heroes, and they are not always perfect, just like any other human being. Sometimes, heroes even make some bad choices, but the heroic things they do later on balance out the bad things they did in the past.
