STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The ensuring statement of purpose is meant to put forth my aspiration to pursue my career through Masters in Mechanical Engineering at your esteemed university, as well as description of my plans subsequent to my graduation. In this ever changing world of Engineering and Technology, passing day makes them obsolete, I want to attain the highest level of education and transcend new scope for research in Mechanical Engineering. This has always fascinated me and I am keen to continue my academic pursuit in this field.
I have always cherished a dream to become an Engineer, a dream that was innate and developed slowly over the years. Right from my school days I found myself fascinated by the intricacies of physics, which spurn the web their web of aura around me, a web that I sought to unravel in countless problem solving sessions I have always felt a strong need for achievement, which has been the motivating force behind whatever I have achieved in my academic career. Mechanical department staff in my college gave the strong support to my feeling saying that “We bei...
My parents would often tell me, “We want you to be success.” They mean “successful,” but by striving to become a structural engineer, I strive not just to become successful but become a success. In their love for family, my parents have spent time and energy into unlocking the potential they saw in me. I would like to inspire people by building structures no one believed was possible and, by doing so, unlock the potential in others.
Bernard Roth was a mechanical engineer before he wrote a book to inspire people all over. When Roth me other engineers who had dreams of building up their own companies, but none had any intent of actually doing it that is the observation that struck Roth (theachievementhabit.com). That observation is what made Roth want to teach a class and write a book. In Roth’s book The Achievement Habit: Stop Wishing, Start Doing, and Take Command of Your Life, he shares many of his very own personal stories. Roth tires to help people see hope in an honest and open way.
A world-class engineering student, also known as an “expert learner,” is characterized by taking charge of their learning process, being active in their approach to learning, being motivated and disciplined as well as setting specific goals for themself. Becoming a world-class engineering student is a process that takes time and diligence. In order to become a world-class engineering student, I will have to identify where I stand currently in terms of goal setting, community building, academic development and personal development, where a world-class engineering student would be in each of those areas, and what I have to do in order to become a world-class engineering student.
Believing that hard work pays off in the end is more than an idea to motivate an individual, it is the difference between the ability to strive for success or the breaking point for an individual who believes in “I can’t.” An individual who has the desire for success and believes he or she can achieve anything has the ability to go far. Success for college and beyond is established through the vital skills of motivation, responsibility, and strength. To master all three items is to find success.
I want to see how far my efforts and endless curiosity will take me. Seventeen years of life and countless interactions have taught me that knowledge, effort, and discipline are key aspects to achieving anything in life, and each year the war to get to college despite the struggle to get financial aid, attain knowledge, and networking has made that profoundly clear. As a senior in high school about to enter college I’m about to bypass one hurdle, but I know that many more are in store for me. However, the crusade I’ve marched through to get to this point has taught me that with determination, desire, discipline I can bypass them
In the workplace, new engineers will most likely have a mentor and a wealth of knowledge placed at their fingertips. At times, new engineers might struggle to go out and seek knowledge, letting stubbornness and self-pride get in the way of going and seeking advice from tenured staffers. With the wide array of challenges encountered in engineering settings, many times, experience in the field outweighs technical knowledge that comes with a degree. This is a prime example of where confidence in one’s ability is absolutely necessary. It is not always what you know, but knowing where or who to go to in order to accomplish the task at hand.
The knowledge acquired in schools and colleges, I believe is not an education, but the means to it. It is this belief that made me a student to the end of my days, the obvious direction being curiosity to wards exploration.
I am applying for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Solid Mechanics to expand on my study of and experience with materials. I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Materials Science and Engineering as an undergraduate at UCLA. I now look forward to moving into graduate study in a field of engineering with a related, but different perspective. Materials Science and Engineering has allowed me to explore both materials and other fields within engineering, contributing to my strong interest in combining my study of Materials Science and Engineering with Mechanical Engineering. I have completed basic coursework in most areas of engineering, learning statics, thermodynamics, basic programming, and circuit design. This has provided a strong foundation to continue graduate study in other engineering disciplines. I
Have you ever thought about how people like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates became the people who everybody knows? Imagine if those guys have a bachelor’s degree how more successful they could be. I have asked myself the question above and I found out that they were going for the things that they loved. For instance, when Steve Jobs was young he liked everything what was related to mechanisms. He built his first computer right in the garage. I am applying for mechanical engineering program in science department because it is my thing and I am 100% sure I will be a good engineer. I am very thankful for HCC to offer such a great opportunity that I want to take. I always loved mechanisms and wanted to know how they work. That’s why I chose to be a mechanical engineer.
Banking on an excellent academic record coupled with a keen interest in the ever-growing field of science and technology motivated me to take up engineering. In school, I consistently secured one of the top positions of the class. I have always been attracted towards subjects that draw upon one's analytical abilities. Thus, Mathematics and Physics were my favorite subjects and I secured 89% marks in my 12th class. I am among the top 3 percent in Engineering entrance test to UG schools out of two and half lakh students and I could get into the top ranked college of the state and one of the most reputed universities in the country, K L Uni...
We are accessible only to a limited quantity of resources around us. Considering the current usage and availability of resources, it has become very important for us to use them as wisely as possible. As an industrial engineer my aim is to find ways to eliminate wastefulness and enhance the efficiency of the process or service being provided. I would like to enhance my knowledge and in order to achieve this, I wish to pursue my Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering at the Arizona State University. I aspire to do my PhD after my Masters to fulfil my long term career goal of carrying out postdoctoral industrial research while becoming a tenured professor.
Electrical engineering, I believe, is the only field where one’s work becomes the most instrumental part of one’s mundane activity and life, and the output produced stays forever to credit. My perception is that, this field requires a lot of patience, perseverance and management skills in order to be successful. The connection that electrical engineering offered between me and this world is the fact that you can become a person who can impact so many lives. This made me pursue Electrical Engineering. After four years of undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering, I feel completely satisfied with my decision to choose this branch of engineering as my career option as it has revealed the most pragmatic and down-to-earth approach to tackling
Obstacles had never been obstructing my effort to succeed in life. As an engineer to be, it is important to me to be prepared for the hurdles in the real world. The world nowadays needs a person who could compete and has great abilities to stand on the same level as others. Multiple skills and critical opinion of an issue are essential for an engineer to jump into this challenging career. For me, a strategic planning and full preparation need to achieve the aim of being an expert engineer.
Mechanical engineering is a type of engineering which applies principles of physics and material science for the purpose of analyzing, designing, manufacturing and maintaining of mechanical systems (Gorp, 2005). It is involved with the production and usage of mechanical power in the operation of various machines and tools. Mechanical engineering is considered to be the most diverse engineering and has its breadth derived from the need to design tools and manufacture products which range from small individual parts to large systems. Mechanical engineering, as thought of by scholars, is related to Aerospace engineering, Manufacturing and Mechanical engineering (Van et al, 2011).
From my perspective, excellent electronic engineers are a group of gifted and imaginative talents who bravely explore and innovate, change the world with passion and innovation. I have always dreamed of becoming one of them. For realizing this dream, I started from China 's Jilin University and then joined The University of Manchester for BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering to take more advanced professional courses. In UoM, I managed to gain GPA of 4.0. Yet, my pursuit of the dream does not end there, since I plan to apply for M.S. program in Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Carnegie Mellon University, where I can receive the best education among the world.
