When conducting research for my project, I came across a website that contained a few primary sources regarding the Salem Witch Trials. One of these primary sources was the photo of a legal document explaining the death warrant and reasons for execution of a woman named Bridget Bishop. Bishop was claimed to be a witch in Salem during the year 1692, and the document explaining her significance involving witchcraft resides in the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts. My thesis for this primary source is that the judge and jury believed they were seeking justice by executing Bishop, a woman whose death was truthfully based on her differences as a person rather than actual crimes she committed.
If I had to make a suggestion to better manage the situation, I’d probably suggest the organization to practice and use collaborating as a management strategy. I’d propose that Kate and Tom get together with their other willing co-workers and come up with an appropriate solution to the organization’s problems. When they feel comfortable and satisfied with their possible solutions and proposal, they should then pitch it to the hierarchy of the organization: Jeff Donaldson, Rick Clark, etc. This would hopefully produce a mutually and completely satisfactory solution.
Learning from what Dr. Anna Pou had to face with the lawsuits she was dealing with makes me cringe. As Healthcare professionals, having to worry of possibly being sued for believing what is right for the patient or as a whole for the hospitals health is ridiculous. Healthcare professionals like Dr. Pou, have taken the Hippocratic oath, and one of the promises made within that oath is “first, do no harm”. Often time’s society look at courts cases as a battle versus two oppositions, but Dr. Pou’s case it is not. Mary’s father locks her in a room full of rats. Dr. Jekyll has been the good side where as his double is Mr. Hyde that creates all of the violence. Mr. Hyde haunts Mary as an adult by biting her neck. When Hyde bites her neck, Mary reacts with the same plea she made with her father. The quote was “Please sir, do not do this” (6). Another aspect is that Mary calls Dr. Jekyll “The Master”. Dr. Jekyll is always in charge of Mary even though in the novel it doesn’t say it, but as the reader, I could infer that he was a Master and in control of Mary whereas also Mary’s father could be referred to as “The Master”. My reasoning behind this is that Mary’s Father was very violent and abuse to Mary and was in charge of her as a child.
