When I first started learning martial arts, I hated it. I primarily got influenced after watching a couple of Jackie Chan, Chuck Norris, and Bruce Lee movies. They were so cool at the time. With all the “Kyia, Chia, Cha!!” I was inspired to the fullest. Although I was a tiny, timid boy, I wished to have the capabilities to defeat the bad guys, be the hero, and one versus nine. Who doesn’t want that?! But then there was my first lesson. It was harder than I thought at my age. I became inattentive and careless. Now in martial arts, there’s a particular form for every stance. The executions are only precise when the postures are correct, and I struggled. If I wanted to obtain the next belt, I would need to perfect my stances. It was a hard position …show more content…

And of course I never thought about this when I was learning martial arts. I was bad boy who thought of ways to annoy anyone. I only liked listening to my grandfather tell stories before bedtime. During those time, there were many stories that I “just”..didn’t care about and moved on. But there was this one story, I remember, that changed how I viewed myself. It began off by business employees heading into their offices, noticing a “Big Advice” Letter noted on the door. The note quoted, “Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym.” The employees headed into the gym with complete curiosity. Everyone was depressed at first but as they slowly reached closer and closer to the coffin, the more the excitement heated up. One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, but when they looked inside it... They became speechless, shocked, and into silence. There was a mirror in the coffin. Everyone who looked inside it could see himself. For extra decorations, there was a sign next the mirror that said, “There is only one person that can set the limits for their growth... IT IS YOU!” ….Now, this story will be chiseled in my mind forever. It is us that creates the destined society, and each of us has something special. Our own futures, our own passions. But mainly, we are in control of lives, decisions is where it starts. Every decision counts, every actions counts. So make your life count. we can become truly wonderful or the opposite. It’s our choices to either improve or stay stucked.Your life doesn’t change when your friends changes, when your boss changes, Your life doesn’t change when Chuck Norris changes, when your phone changes. But your life changes when...YOU...
