Marketing Management While researching through texts and documents, I found several careers that would interest a leader, yet only a few are in high demand and will cause a growth in jobs in the community. Marketing is in the top jobs to have in the US during 2012-2013 according to US News. Marketing general management is mostly about business, advertising, sales, products, income, costumers, etc. This research paper will help you get a better idea on how the marketing business originated and how it has now become one of the best jobs to have in the US.
To help you understand this document better it is organized in four main sections. In the first section I will provide a historical background of this career and its significant events. In the second section I will provide the requirements to obtain such career. The basic requirements like, what kind of education is needed and recommended. Which local colleges will have the best business programs? Which are the best routs to get this job? What other jobs are related? These and more questions will be answered. I will also describe the daily jobs and duties of such job. All this will be divided in different body topics, four topics to be exact, in the first will be history and background. In the next the requirements to this career, then the job description and last the job reflection and outlook. All this will be concluded with a sort conclusion of my point of view over this career and why I choose it.

In conclusion I choose this major because I love to be a leader in any event I do and I have always managed to have a good leadership and that is exactly what is needed in this career. Also I have been told to be creative and that also is a positive trait for a person that has to come up with new ideas every day.

Activities of marketing and sales department at Sainsbury's: Market Research: this type of research is a research that Sainsbury's would like to find if a product or a service is suitable for the consumers. This is because they can find out what kind of products or services the consumer's wants. Sainsbury's would also like to find out about if the product exists, if so, how would they manage to improve it. Marketing is a fundamental aspect of all businesses, whether they are set out to make a profit, or charitable organisations - they will have to carry out marketing research of some description. It has been described as being, “the management process responsible for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably.” (Chartered Institute of Marketing) This essay will explore the role of marketing in a marketing oriented business and different aspects of the external environment that a smartphone company should be aware of. A good definition of marketing is the process of the intermediary function between product development and sales. (Reddy ) The field of marketing entails taking a generic product or generic service (the product or services do not have to be “generic” they may be actually unique to the marketplace) and associating the generic product with a brand name (Petty 2001). Under this generic concept are the activities of advertising, public relations, media planning, sales strategy and so on.
Marketing is not a static construct, but it grows and develops over time to become what is known as marketing today. “The marketing revolution divides neatly into four separate eras’, eras’ which parallel rather closely the classic pattern of development in the marketing revolution.” (Keith, 1960). The first of these 4 eras was until the 1930’s and was production and profit orientated, and are considered to be outdated. During this era “the new product decision was product oriented not marketing orientated.” (Keith, 1960). “The second era was a sales oriented era, whereby marketing was seen as a series of activities designed to produce profit through ascertaining, creating, stimulating, and satisfying the needs/wants of a selected segment of the market.” (Eldridge, 1970, p. 4).
