Introduction Choosing a career in marketing can lead a person in many different directions within the defined roles of marketing. Composed of many facets and activities marketing careers offer a variety of avenues for the career minded to explore while offering growth and opportunities for advancement. A common denominator for many who choose a career in this field is the sense of ownership, or entrepreneurial spirit with regards to the products or services that they are working to market. Marketing requires that an understanding of customers’ needs and desires be acquired and then translated into both product development as well as communications as part of the marketing strategy. This paper will explore what is entailed in a career in marketing, as well as what the future holds for the profession. Because marketing professionals are needed by every company and in every industry, the career potential and chances for finding ones niche within the career field are virtually unlimited. Basics of Marketing A good definition of marketing is the process of the intermediary function between product development and sales. (Reddy ) The field of marketing entails taking a generic product or generic service (the product or services do not have to be “generic” they may be actually unique to the marketplace) and associating the generic product with a brand name (Petty 2001). Under this generic concept are the activities of advertising, public relations, media planning, sales strategy and so on. Marketing professionals create, manage and/or enhance brands in order to create or bolster demand for the product. A successful marketing plan will help assure that consumers look beyond just the price or function of a product when making a purchasing decision, in part, a well planned marketing effort will create a “feel good” association about the product the consumer is about to purchase (Petty) A key part of a career in marketing is to understand the needs, preferences, and constraints that define the target group of consumers or the market niche corresponding to the brand. This is done by market research. This is accomplished through market research, essentially using survey techniques, statistics, psychology and social understanding to help gather information on what consumers want and/or need, and then designing products, or services, to hopefully meet ... ... middle of paper ... ...rs per week. (Locke) Those entering the field must be able to work well under pressure and thrive off meeting deadlines and goals that are set. In some positions, substantial travel is not uncommon. In spite of the rigors associated with a career in marketing the outlook for the profession is bright. Marketing is a vital necessity not only for business firms, but is also needed and utilized by governments, educational, religious, social service, and nonprofit organizations or institutions. Perhaps the most alluring aspect of a career in marketing is the fact that it provides a great number and variety of job opportunities, and can offer opportunities to both number crunchers as well as intuitive creative people as well. Bioluminescence consists of, “Two different kinds of light emission, luminescence is when chemical compounds mix together and glow. Incandescence is a filament inside the creature that gets very hot and emits light.” (Wilson, Tracy). Once upon a time in the recent future, a country went wrong. The country was called the Republic of Gilead.” The movie The Handmaid’s Tale (1990) is a dystopian society fable. America, now Gilead, is ruled by puritanical right-wing extremists. Gilead has a totalitarian government which suppresses its peoples’ freedom of choice. Gilead has become a male-controlled police state dedicated to the oppression of women. Gilead's separation of men and women into mutually exclusive roles points to a system of binary divisions coded by gender. Although male characters are rarely portrayed in the film, their power is omnipresent. Men are either corridors of power, or are fighting soldiers known as the Angels. In The Handmaids Tale, women are stripped of their real names, their voices, and their rights. They are indoctrinated into the religion-based ideas of this new society where they will be Handmaids. The production of children has become the Republic of Gilead's overarching goal, governing nearly every aspect of life. Women are grouped into classes (Handmaids, Wives, and Marthas). Everyone dresses alike within their social group; clothing serves the purpose of revealing status, but masks individuality. With ninety-nine percent of the female population sterile, handmaids are de-eroticized baby-making machines. Handmaids are forced to lie between the legs of the wives, while their husbands penetrate them in a militaristic way. They are seen as a commodity to the privileged upper-class, and are being indoctrinated by Old Testament orthodoxy. They are treated in a misogynistic way not only by men, but by other woman known as the aunts. The aunts teach moral pieties, and indoctrinate the handmaids through dehumanization. Those who do no...

When the Juvenile Justice System was created, it was geared towards treating poverty stricken juvenile offenders as adults while allowing the wealthier offenders to essentially go free. Decades later, a reform movement saw a need to delineate juvenile offender from adults through their own court system. A shift in how these offenders were treated throughout the juvenile system process began to take shape. There was a push to reduce the risk of a youth offender becoming an adult offender. This push is far different from how the initial juvenile offenders were treated.
Life is precious and we live it only once, however, what we do with it is at our own discretion. Therefore, it is a tragic that many people at younger ages decide to live a life of misdeeds and become what we call juvenile criminals, but, every action in this world has a consequence and to deal with these unlawful adolescent we have the Juvenile Justice Department. Conversely the juvenile justice system is a network of trained agencies that deal with juveniles whose conduct has come in conflict with the law. When young offenders commit a series of crimes, constantly being in trouble with the law, they are waived into Adult court where they will be subject to any punishment available. In some cases,

There are two types of addictions: psychological and physical. When a person is psychologically addicted they believe that they need the drug in order to live. A user gets attached to the drug thinking its normal during their daily routines. “A user may associate certain actions or rituals with taking drugs” (Nagle 22). Drug addicts think it’s necessary to get high before they do certain things. For example, some may get high before eating a meal or before going to bed, they get a feeling of accomplishment as if they’ve done something good, the drug rewards their nerve system. Drug users alter the way their brain works by the constant use. However, “if a person takes a drug often enough the brain changes so it can handle all of the changes” (Nagle 16).
The history of America’s Juvenile Justice System has dramatically change sense it’s hey days in 1800s or 18th century. The welfare of youth, young adult and juvenile have encountered the Progressive Era of reform, The Libertarians, The Delinquency Prevention Control Acts of 1968, The Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention and Act of 1974, and the Get Tough on Crime legislation; however these programs for their time seem to fit the margin in which youth could galvanize some form of rehabilitation through it. The Juvenile Justice System of past has moderate beginning for which one stands out with result to prove its worthiness.
We must ensure the proper treatment is used in an age-appropriate manner. We are looking to better their lives by learning about their emotional, behavioral, and developmental differences that separate youths from adults. A regular occurrence in our society today is that youth become subject to adult Criminal Justice System and drawn into its corrupt issues. The injustice is rooted in the incarceration of youth without parole. The Youth Criminal Justice Act was founded on the belief that young people have the ability and potential to change and grow. Nearly 2,500 people have been denied any opportunity to prove that they have been successfully rehabilitated and are safe to integrate back into society. This is just one issue with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, not only is it affecting our youth but also causing difficulties into adulthood. This highlights errors in the system such as; over the punitive treatment of youth, mandatory minimum sentences and lack of judicial discretion, and inadequate assistance of counsel. Starting with over punitive treatment of youth, young people are wired differently than adults, they do not have the same levels of judgment, decision making, and impulse control. Research shows that these parts of the brain are not fully developed until he or she is in their early twenty’s. Even though these youths are exposed to excessively harsh treatment in
Marketing is very important to the success of a business. Before people can buy a product or service they have to know about it. However, marketing entails more than just letting people know what your company has to offer. Throughout this paper, I will define marketing, offering my personal definition as well as more formal definitions from other sources. Furthermore, I will explain to the reader the importance of marketing to organizational success giving real world examples in support of this explanation. The field of marketing can include many things. I believe, however, the most important thing which it should include is communication with customers as to the value and benefits of using that particular company's products and services. It should help to establish the business's niche in the industry and distinguish it from other such businesses.
One of the primary purposes of the juvenile justice system is to punish delinquent children for their criminal acts while simultaneously providing them adequate rehabilitation. In 2016, there were over 850,000 arrests of persons under age 18 in the United States (“Law enforcement,” n.d.). Although this is a notable downward trend since 2007, the amount of juvenile arrests is nevertheless substantial. Some juvenile justice staff, counselors, and social workers are concerned about whether the overwhelming number of youthful offenders are receiving the proper balance of punishment and rehabilitation (Mears, Pickett, & Mancini, 2015, 459). The State of Washington Department of Social and Health Services Juvenile Justice and Rehabilitation Administration

“One of the most important actions that can occur in the early court processing of a juvenile offender is the transfer process, or also known as waiver” (Siegel & Welsh, 2011). Before they had a juvenile court system, juvenile offenders were treated in the Adversarial Criminal Justice System, in the same manner as adults. These influenced legislators in many countries to think of alternative procedures that could be used in dealing with youthful offenders instead of subjecting them to the harsh treatment in the criminal justice system (Siegel & Welsh, 2011). So, this led to the establishment of juvenile courts that focused more on rehabilitation rather than punishment. Court proceedings were made more informal, and youthful offenders were since distanced from the Adversarial justice system. Many states developed Juvenile court systems across the helped offenders below the age of 18 were tried for their offences.
