Managing interruptions is an important part of any job in the sport industry. Interruptions frequently get in the way of the job. They may cause an organization to have delays or changes in their schedule. Keeping an interruptions log every day for at least a week, recording every interruption you experience, and marking down what is causing this interruption. Once this information has been recorded a this person needs to analyze the data they have collected. THis allows the person to schedule around these daily disruptions. Although, most interruptions will come without warning, it is important to have a strategy when dealing with them. Conquering these interruptions is not an easy task, but it can be done through analysis. In order to do this the subject must look at whether the interruption is valid or not. If an employee interrupts a boss in a busy situation, the boss may need to tell this person to talk to them another time. If this is the case the employer needs to politely ask the employee to schedule certain times to talk with them. These meetings can be held for everyone in an organization to state their questions or concerns. By holding these meetings an organization can save a tremendous amount of wasted time. When telling people the time that you are unavailable it is important to let them know that you are always available in the case of an emergency. Simply by closing the door or leaving a note outside is an acceptable way to let others know that they are busy. These can eliminate the distractions and will help to avoid employee conflicts. Having an open and closed door policy keeps everyone in check with their questions and concerns.
