In the article “Make America Hate Again”, by Sasha Abramsky, she explains how Donald Trump is divining the country apart with his ideology and false messages. Even before being elected president of the United States Donald Trump was known as the “Law and Order” candidate, he structure his political policies on tougher punishment for criminals, “torturing terrorists”, and punishing family members of terrorist members. Abramsky, stated that America is an endless cycle of violence with crime and police brutality. Unlike our western European democratic countries, the United States has far more citizen death by law enforcement and higher violent crime rating. The majority of his supporters lack knowledge on “anti-immigration, and anti-Muslims”, seeing them as a threat to the country and asking to ban Muslims from the U.S.

The 2008 market crash cause many workers to lose their job and blame immigrants for it. In recent year the number of hate crime has increase from attack on the LGBT community, to vandalism of religious building (Mosque), to murder of Sikhs mistook for Muslims. Any public officials or anyone that speak against Trump have their lives threaten by his supporters.
This article would be great for my research because it highlights the racial disparity in the United States, the role of law enforcement when interacting the citizens. Furthermore, it compared the U.S. with similar well develop countries. Also, this article talked about the 2008 recession, high education cost, and income inequality. Lastly, this article talked about the ban of a whole culture, people inability to use their free speech because they fear for their lives and family.

In April 2014 in a cost saving effort in Flint Michigan, the city stops purchasing their drinking water from Lake Huron water in Detroit, and start using water from the local river.

As a result, the water was contaminated with lead because the city did not properly take care of the pipeline, a lot of people become ill due to drinking the water. It took officials 18 months to acknowledge the crisis after a researcher pointed out that lead contamination as double in children since using the local river drinking water. Back-then president Obama declare the Flint water crisis a federal emergency and funded the city with financial aid, and other states and volunteers donates bottle of water for the people of Flint. Due to the city long reaction effort 10 people have died from drinking the contaminated water. The need to save money has hurt the city of Flint Michigan gravely and the people are still

suffering.
The reason I choose this article is because in the essay “What’s so great about America”, by Dinesh D’Souza he said “here is a country where everything works”. I needed to counter that claim the Flint water is a great example of how fragile our infrastructure in America are. Plus, the water pipes and Flint are still not fix, there have been some progress. There are more poorly, unsafe critical infrastructure that we depend on for example; the failed levee in Louisiana, and major bridges, highway, and dams that need major repair.

This article about the low test score of American students and the relationship with poverty compared to other country. The article stated that the lack of “financial resources can create toxic condition in the home”. Without money most family can afford to provide their children with additional help for their education. Parents in the U.S without a high school diploma tend to live in poverty and their children are underperforming in school compare to their more financial stable peers. In the Organization for Economic Cooperation Development (OECD), the U.S. is ranked 27th among 34 other countries. In the U.S. a family making less than $26,000 a year is considered to be poor, compare to the median household income of $52,000.
I pick this article because it great when it comes to measure the United States educational system worldwide, and the income inequality. The article also points out that poverty drastically effect how well a student perform in school. Furthermore, this article points out that even the more financial stable income students are underperforming compared to other countries.

Immigrants living in the United States are more likely to start a business compares to non-immigrants, they are “highly entrepreneurial”. Compared to U.S. born citizens, immigrants are” more likely to have an advance degree”, or a Ph.D... Immigrants have co-founded some of the technology that are used in our daily lives like; Google, Intel, eBay and Yahoo. Immigrants tend do the job that most U.S. born citizens will not work.
I choice this article because I wanted to show, how immigrants have help America prosper at faster rate than any other country, and the economy. In the past year immigrants have being discriminated against more than usually. I wanted to show that they are backbone of the U.S. economy, the work for less, do job most of us will not work
