Loving Leadership
A leader, a term used with highest amount of dignity comes in many forms. Leaders arrive in many forms, and it can be in any situation, not limited to just work place, but also household, school, classroom, even within friends. Like the saying goes, "with big ability, comes great responsibility," leadership position demands a set of responsibilities, being shrewd, rational, and loving. A leader can be classified into to two categories: leader with love, and care, the other with fear as the power tool. Most people want to be a leader, an urge to be a role model, but only few can be a successful principal. Alike any other profession, leadership requires rules.
The regulations for being an honest role model are not abided by books, but is primarily founded on a person's character, and posture. Leaders action, and attitude not only fixes a special individual, but also influences the resultant of a fellowship, a relationship, a team, or friendship. Depending on a role model leading quality, the followers commitment to work are determined. It is no rocket science, that happy workers lead to a better result for the troupe. If a leader's mentality is set to govern over the people by fear, it guides to numerous things, not one being positive for work, or workplace. Leadership based on fear can only bring negative impact among the leader and follower. Apathy within workers is the first signal of bad role model, accompanied by aggressive response, declining atmosphere, emotional distance, and many more. If a role model is a loving leader, the impact on the environment are constantly confident. As a leader, one should always keep in judgement that the team needs time to cope with the change, always allowing room for conversation, and holding the doorway open for inquiries. When I got hired as sales manager, the owner of the company was more than welcoming, and walked me through all the changes that I was going through. Training was on one hand, but walking side by side while I was learning new things showed the great quality of leaders. A serious quality of a leader includes not keeping the current squad intact, but also making newcomers feel like family. Ability to delegate is another key factor in leading a successful team. The key is to identify the strength of the team, finding out what they enjoy doing the most, and to capitalize the most of it for the benefit of the company.
