The movie I chose was very interesting and very entertaining. This movie was about chess—a game about smarts and staying a step ahead of your opponent—Life of a King. This movie is slightly predictable, but intriguing. It is based on the true story about an ex con artist Eugene Brown who turned into a youth mentor for a bad school. The drama throughout this story was very intriguing however it was predictable. Intense to a certain extent, the movie hits all of the notes that will be told for the background information of Eugene while also inspiring young adults. Brown 's story is very attention grabbing while he gives such a solid performances. The film tells a story about Eugene Brown, an ex-convict who starts the Big Chair …show more content…

The content in this movie is appropriate for ages 14 and older or a mature crowd. I say this because some of the things shown in the movie is for a much more mature audience. Although the level of violence seen throughout the movie is low, there is some scenes shown with people using and distributing drugs and alcohol to adolescents. There is no nudity or sexual content throughout this movie. The outstanding cinematography shed a positive light to the intense movie. Furthermore, the choosing of the actors and actresses in the film play an important role. I say this because Cuba Gooding Jr. really embraced the character he played. By doing this the audience was drawn in more because of the emotions he portrayed. More positives about this movie was the ordering of it. Life of a King built up from the beginning and gave the audience something to look forward to in the end. The build up of this movie is enjoyable because it keeps the audience on their seats as the movie progresses. Furthermore, cinematography plays a huge role in the scenes even with the little things such as the attire the actors wear during each scene. The film does this well throughout the movie. For example, the clothing choices accompany the scene that they played in appropriately. Considering the fact they were in a low income neighborhood it was understandable for them to not be dressed in high end fashion. All of these
For my movie review I chose the movie “Simon Birch”. The main stars of this movie are: Ian Michael Smith who played the role of Simon Birch, Joseph Mazello who played the role of Joseph Wenteworth, Ashley Judd who played the role of Rebecca Wenteworth, Jim Carrey who played the role of Joseph Wenteworth in his older years, Oliver Platt who played the role of Ben Goodrich, and David Strathairn who played Rev. Russell. This movie is a coming of age/Comedy-drama.
To be a True Blue Aussie you have to have a mate because “You've to have a mate,” as verbalized by poet Dave Butler in 2013. For in Aussie culture, a mate is a person whose actions speak louder than their words. In Australia, being a mate is a value that is held in the highest respect.
A young 12-year-old boy by the name of Aaron Kurlander faced many hardships when he was left to fend for himself while his family was separated from him in the 1930’s depression era in St. Louis at the Empire hotel. Aaron uses his imagination and sense of reality to survive and he never seems to let his spirits sink. While Aaron was left to fend for himself, his father seems to think he had good reasons for the families absences; Aaron’s brother Sullivan was shipped off to go live with relatives, his mother (Mrs. Kurlander) admitted to a sanitarium for tuberculosis, and his father (Mr. Eric Kurlander) who was a door-to-door sales man who sold wickless candles left town to travel for a watch
In The Once and Future King, Experience is Everything. T.H. White shows that education depends on ones owns personal experiences. Wart’s tutor, Merlyn, uses this exact learning method on Wart. Merlyn uses magic to transform Wart into various animals to show him important life lessons. The Wart is transformed into a fish, goose, and a badger in order to experience different forms of power each being a part of how he should rule as king. Wart learns from Mr. P that mind power is nothing, from the wild goose he learns freedom, and the badger teaches him to accept what you have.
This movie was a tale of an immigrant seeking money and power who untimely set up his own demise. The producers did a good job at pointing out certain features that let you into the life of an organized crime leader. He tells of his humble beginnings and shows you in details how he rose to the top. The producer had a point to make and I took that point as being you can never get and stay someone good while being bad. The sound effects and graphics also makes this movie. They show just enough to intrigue you but yet not to completely make you sick to your stomach. The music is very telling and
This movie was inspiring and encouraging to anyone who is struggling with something. Overcoming his controversies in life became the main point of the movie. Knowing that this movie was based upon a true story inspires the people even more.
Life of Alexander the Great of Macedonia is one of the most remarkable Ancient Greece stories that prevail even in this present era. The ancient Greek sources clearly identify the life of Alexander as the one which broaden our understanding about the heroes of the Ancient times. Plutarch parallel lives are one of the sources that equip classical study and any other studies with necessary details of how Alexander manifested his life as an Ancient Greek hero. However the invention of motion pictures (cinema) had created another dimension in analysing Life of Alexander. Firstly Robert Rossen released a life of Alexander a nearly half century ago, which did not make much effort addition to what literature has far reached, and it was argued that his film consist some inaccuracies. Oliver Stone, a screenwriter also wrote a Life of Alexander (2004-2005) and it reached its hype as a cinematic presentation and it also depicts nearly accurate historical information about the life of Alexander the great. Oliver Stone’s Life of Alexander remains the controversial presentation when studying the Life of Alexander. This short essay will critically investigate how Stone went about constructing his ‘biopic’ of Alexander, including a consideration of which episodes were included as well as those which were excluded.
For the most part, I would have to say I like the movie more because it gives me a better idea of the whole situation of world war II to Bruno’s confusion. I think that the film was able to show more details of the difficult past and Bruno and Shmuel story. Even though the book was very well
Overall this film was exciting to watch and was good to help learn a little about the Elizabethan Era. Although the goriness is too much for someone who is sensitive to that kind of thing, you can still enjoy the movie. The costumes are eccentric, the set design is, although outdated, extremely detailed, and was a good movie if you were looking for something to watch and enjoyed a little bit of history in your life.
This is a movie about a professional killer, or "Cleaner", named Léon played by Jean Reno, and his unlikely interaction with a 12-year old girl, Mathilda played by Natalie Portman. Mathilda's family is murdered by corrupt Drug Enforcement Agents (DEA) lead by Agent Stansfield played by Gary Oldman. Agent Stansfield, is portrayed as a drug addict, mentally unstable and an overtly violent and corrupt law enforcement team leader.
If you want a movie that has a simple plot but has profound meaning, lots of laughable moment, a pure romance between teenagers, then this is your choice. It has an interesting storyline, strong characters, and beautiful scenery that can be shown to the audience.
The film, “The Madness of George III” opened in late 1788, approximately seven years after Great Britain’s loss of the American colonies, a loss that continued to weigh heavily on the fragile mind of King George III. Surrounding the king were those who would supplant him and his government. One of which included his eldest son, the Prince of Wales, who with the help of others, conspired to overturn the government.
Also, theme is mature and younger audiences wouldn’t be able to grasp the ultimate goal of the author. As for my recommendations, I don’t have much to add, except for great job to the director and writer, the story flows smoothly the novel’s adaptation is true to the book’s descriptions. Lastly, a round of applause to the great cast that brought the characters to life, they truly made the film memorable to not only me but other audiences that have the pleasure of watching this
This week I have watched Silver Linings Playbook. I love this movie. It is my absolute most favorite movie that I have ever watched. In my opinion it is a very funny and romantic movie. I have seen this movie before I had watched it with my class. I did not expect such explicit language. I also didn’t expect Pat, the main character, to go on about Nicki for so long. I also did not expect for Pat and Tiffany to get together in the end, since he was going on about Nicki for the whole movie. I did not read any reviews about this movie before I had watched it for the first time. I don’t like reading reviews on movies, because there could be a spoiler alert in them. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who hasn’t seen it. This is a really
