Letter To Self Dear Jake, this is a paper to yourself that you will be reading when you are a senior in high school, and this is a letter from your 8th grade self. I have made a paragraph about what job I would like to have, what college I wish to go to, what GPA I want to have in high school, what type of friends I would like to have, what sports and activities I want to take place in during high school, the most influential person in my life, the most academic influential person in my life, my most memorable moment in elementary school, and my most memorable moment in middle school. I hope that you have accomplished most of these goals, if not all of them. I hope that you are where you want to be in life. Although I may not have given …show more content…
The college of my choice would be UC Davis, or Duke University. One of my largest goals in life is to get a degree from a great college and to do something great with it. Duke University may be a longshot, but having a large goal in life is always good thing, even if you never accomplish it. UC Davis may be more of a realistic college for me, but still having the goal to get into Duke University will help me work extra hard in high school, whether I make it into Duke or not. In high school I hope to accomplish a 3.8 GPA, at minimum. I plan on accomplishing this by working hard and getting all my homework/studying done before going and doing anything with friends. Since there are literally millions of dollars available in scholarship awards, I plan on earning the money that comes with them. Having a high GPA in high school will definitely help me get into the colleges I hope to get into, and help me in life. I know I will have to work hard to accomplish this GPA, but i'm most definitely up to the …show more content…
Almost every day after school your friend group which we called “The Crew”, which consisted of Jordan Shank, Kaiden Hassay, Garrett Freeman, and Shane Barrow would walk from Berrendos to Shane’s house. My friend group that I hung out with most of the time included “The Crew”, Christopher Huhn, Fletcher Bottke, and Bradyn Klein. You played basketball, baseball, soccer, ran track and cross country for Berrendos, and played Bulls and Bulldogs baseball along with Titans basketball. Recently our Titans team won the Singler Open Tournament, and it will be one of my best memories ever. Not only did we have a great time playing basketball, we also had a great time running around the hotel and sneaking out of our rooms at night to meet up with 17 year old girls. Overall, your middle school life has been great, and I hope that your high school life is just as
I always wanted to attend to an important college. To me, that meant that the smartest people has to be there and one that had good reputation. After research and research I understood that my life have changed since I got to the United States. As an international student my opportunities were less, since I do not qualify for financial aid. My choices were less, but i realized that that does not stop me in going to college and prepare myself to be someone in life. I do not need to be at the most important college to prove myself how worth it I am. A two-year community college would let me prepare myself for much less cost and with great opportunities. Glendale Community College a small college would be the best place for me as a student. It is a place where I can get more attention for the teachers and I could pursue my career in medicine.
Although a personal statement is supposed to be mine, in the back of my head, I was thinking that an admission officer would look at this sheet of paper I had written and base my admission on it. Then I felt that although this was supposed to be my story, it was not really what I wanted to say because the purpose was to please someone else. At a certain point, all creativity was gone and my only goal was to have a perfect personal statement. The need to have a perfect personal statement did not allow me to write an essay that was truly me. I already had my mind set that I was going to write what I thought the reader wanted to hear instead of what I truly wanted. I decided, however, that although the two questions of “Is it good?” and “Does this suck?” Barry presents would haunt me for the rest of my life, if my personal statement was not truly me, then I was getting into schools for the wrong reasons. It was surprising how, for so long, I struggled writing this life-altering essay and when I just let it go, and started writing without worrying about perfectionism, I “…was both there and not there… and the lines made a picture and the picture made a story” (124). I was able to write an essay that mattered to me as opposed to something that was a misguided version of myself.
To begin, I exhibit scholarship by maintaining a 4.0 GPA; keeping this distinction is not an easy task. It requires an intense work ethic, solid determination, and an overall desire to stand out. Grades are a key point in measuring scholarship;
Going to college is a big step in a young person’s life. That is why when going to college; one should know which college they would like to go to. For me personally, the college of my dreams is Louisiana State University. The top three majors at Louisiana State University are Biology, Biomedical engineering, and Business. The main reason I want to go to Louisiana State University is because of their amazing biology department .The main things that caught my attention about Louisiana State University, was how flexible I could be with my money, it isn’t that hard to apply and the admission process is pretty doable, and the campus life is interesting with many clubs and organizations that I could join.
Middle school was a amazing experience, for me anyway. I, myself have changed tremendously from the beginning of 6th grade to the end of 8th grade. Not just in appearance either, on the inside as well.
1. It's nothing like high school. I know, you're glad to get out of the same classroom all day, and that part is great, but don't think junior high is like senior high. You may or may not be exposed to new situations like peer pressure, confromity and stress and identity issues. However, this is normal because you're discovering yourself, it's fine.
Wow, three years have passed and the last day is just as long as the first. Three years of hard discipline and learning to get used to homework every night. Three years of standing on the front steps waiting for my parents and saying goodbye to my teachers. I never thought the goodbye might be permanent. 6th grade came and I was looking up at those giant 8th graders, and now I guess I’m one of them. 6th grade, and I was saying hello, and now 8th grade has come and it’s gone from introductions to goodbyes as my last days as a middle school student wind down.
For my perfect college it would be either medium or small in size, so I won’t feel as surrounded or cornered in my learning environment, for cause of further anxiety problems, which I will have to learn to control and am working on it. The next part of college that would fit me individually would have to be low or average cost, due to the fact my family isn’t that wealthy and I would probably have to pay for most myself. Lastly, my perfect college would include being close to home, which applies to any college in North Carolina. (One that has a medical program that
Students who have at least a 3.0-weighted GPA are likely to get more scholarships because it shows consistency and dedication to their studies. Having a good GPA can also give students more options to choose from when looking for outside scholarships because you will be eligible for them. “Better grades, higher test scores, and involvement in a variety of activities can help your teen get more money for college” (Verywell). Therefore, how well you do ...
Dear Coquille School District, I am writing you in regards to extending the length of our lunch period. It is currently only 30 minutes long which does not give us, as students, enough time to eat lunch. Especially if you are like me, and like to go home to eat lunch with your family. In some families, the family members work long hours and they don’t necessarily get to see one another very often. If students were given enough time it is very possible that they could enjoy their lunch with family members and enjoy quality time with them..
I identify with scholarship because all throughout high school I have strived for A’s. There is the occasional class that challenges me that is accompanied by a B, however I still strive for A’s following that B. During my high school career, I have nothing less than a 4.0 GPA. I make sure to attend and participate in class. Being active in academics determines the outcome of an individual along with character, service, and leadership. The four pillars of National Honors Society are what make me who I am. I am a leader who does servicer with astonishing character and excellent scholarship
High school is meant to be the time of your life, but for most seniors just like me it can be some of the most emotional and crazy time. The things in my past make me who I am today, and the things I do now are the first footsteps into the future. I’ve learned a lot about myself in these past four years, and I still have so much learning to do. This is my high school story; the good, bad, and the ugly.
The University of California, Los Angeles home of the Bruins and my dream school. Ever since I was little, I wanted to live in California causing UCLA a perfect option. Also, UCLA is said to be in a desirable location. Considering I want to be an actress, attending a school in California could help me gain more acting opportunities. Speaking of acting the UCLA theater program enables students to explore numerous areas of theatre to generate a solid foundation for future creative projects. To continue the students at the school have a reputation for taking academics seriously and still managing to have fun. The diversity of people will also allow me to find people that have similar interests to mine. Lastly attending UCLA opens the door to numerous career opportunities because of the world-class education they give.
My senior year of high school…I want to enjoy people’s company, appreciate my family’s presence, and keep a permanent Polaroid of my “home town” etched in my memory. I have a purpose for the year, I know what I want to accomplish for the future, but I have to remember to make the most out of today because there may not always be a tomorrow.
Time flies so fast. Looking back, my high school is just like a movie, a lot of things happened. High School is four years of growing up and probably a time in your life where you go through the most changes. In high school you are able to discover yourself and find out who you are as a person. Each year is special and unique in their own way. My journey through high school was a tough one, especially because I decided to not only focus on academic work but also to invest quality time in extra curriculum activities. I wanted more than just academic excellence; I wanted to be a leader, I wanted to add value to every aspect of my life, I wanted a rounded education and not just mere schooling. My success story is what I will like to share with you; how I really made it and how this defines my personality. My journey in High School was scary, exciting, and successful.
