Today I am going to talk to you about a legendary Rock and Roll group known as AC/DC. It all started in 1973 when two brothers named Angus and Malcolm Young started and came up with the name of AC/DC. They had their first gig on New Years Eve in Sydney with the group of the Young brothers, Dave Evans, Rob Bailey, and Peter Clack. In 1974 the Malcolm brothers decided to change up the group by dropping the other three members and adding drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Mark Evans. After that the group worked very hard and was very successful in the 1970s making albums and touring around the world. Some of the first albums they had were the High Voltage (1975), T.N.T (1975), and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (1976). They really started getting popular …show more content…

After the tour Evans did leave AC/DC and in came Cliff Williams. They really became popi when they made the hit Highway to Hell in 1979 which took 6 months and was recorded in London instead of Australia. George Young who is the brother of the Young’s convinced the group to get a new producer named John Roberts. Having this new producer proved to be beneficial to the group as the song was a hit. One of the main influences was The Easybeats “Friday On My Mind” (1967) and reason was because the Young’s older brother George was the band’s rhythm guitarist and he also produced a ton of AC/DC albums. Another influence was Led Zeppelin because he showed AC/DC how you could use rock and roll fundamentals in a different way. Also another big influence was Big Joe Williams “Baby Please Don’t Go” (1965) and it was so good they decided to add it to their own live set.
