The legacy that I intend to leave behind is one of an individual who understand the power of kindness, respect, and love. There is no greater power in this world than love - love is what binds our human race together and teaches us the real meaning of our existence. My legacy will be devoted to the idea that everyone in this world has a right to happiness, and it would be my duty to assist in the facilitation of better tomorrow for all of my beloved fellow citizens. It is my goal to known as the person who always had a kind word to say - always had a smile on his face - always overflowing with positivity no matter the situation. There is great beauty in life and I will not squander the immense majesty of our existence by maintaining a sour
something that you feel very strongly about. Try to make this world better in anyway you can.
We are remembered for whether or not we inspired in others a love for life and an openness to all of those who lived it with us. We will be remembered for our smiles and for our frowns, for our laughter and for our complaints, for our kindness and for our selfishness” (216). When it is all said and done, the legacy that will be remembered, the important legacy, is not the material things we amassed, rather, it is our value system that we leave behind. This is so true. This feeling aligns with one of my favorite adages: One’s character is who you are when no one is
Tom is, as I’m sure every reader should be, heartbroken at Casy’s death. Casy was his only real friend since he left prison, the first person he truly connected with. Tom was so connected to Casy that after the policeman bashed in his head with a pick handle, he went and did the same to his murderer out of hatred, without truly thinking about it. This also reflects just how far Tom is willing to go for his friends and family. Tom begins his journey with Casy as somewhat of a disciple, and in Chapter 28, he tells Ma some of Casy’s final thoughts, about how one man’s soul is just one part of a greater soul, encompassing the whole world. Tom plans on spreading Casy’s preachings to every person he meets in order to keep Casy’s spirit alive and organize the people, because it would have been what he wanted if he had the time to proclaim a dying wish.
While watching the film “Darius Goes West” I identified several qualities that exemplified the idea of servant leadership. Servant leadership was also evident through many people. Although numerous characteristics were presented, the two that stood out to me from the beginning were “building community” and “awareness”. I saw these two qualities in mostly everyone involved in this film. The people that represented a true example of what a servant leader should be were all of Darius’ best friends and most importantly, Darius himself.
While if the money from the extra taxes goes to medical care people probably would not mind it that much, but using higher taxes to force consumers to quit smoking and drinking is not right. Not only does the government try to put a sin tax on tobacco and alcohol they also try to put extra tax on food deemed unhealthy. Families will go without so people can pay the higher tax, and the money from the higher taxes does not always go to the programs it was supposed to go too.
“...For a great many people, the evening is the most enjoyable part of the day. Perhaps, then, there is something to his advice that I should cease looking back so much, that I should adopt a more positive outlook and try to make the best of what remains of my day. After all, what can we ever gain in forever looking back and blaming ourselves if our lives have not turned out quite as we might have wished? The hard reality is, surely, that for the likes of you and I, there is little choice other than to leave our fate, ultimately, in the hands of those great gentlemen at the hub of this world who employ our services. What is the point in worrying oneself too much about what one could or could not have done to control the course one’s life took? Surely it is enough that the likes of you and I at least try to make our small contribution count for something true and worthy. And if some of us are prepared to sacrifice much in life in order to pursue such aspirations, surely that is in itself, whatever the outcome, cause for pride and contentment.” (Ishiguro, 244)
Her spry, Timberland-clad foot planted itself upon a jagged boulder, motionless, until her calf muscles tightened and catapulted her small frame into the next stride. Then Sara's dance continued, her feet playing effortlessly with the difficult terrain. As her foot lifted from the ground, compressed mint-colored lichen would spring back into position, only to be crushed by my immense boot, struggling to step where hers had been. My eyes fixated on the forest floor, as fallen trees, swollen roots, and unsteady rocks posed constant threats for my exhausted body. Without glancing up I knew what was ahead: the same dense, impenetrable green that had surrounded us for hours. My throat prickled with unfathomable thirst, as my long-empty Nalgene bottle slapped mockingly at my side. Gnarled branches snared at my clothes and tore at my hair, and I blindly hurled myself after Sara. The portage had become a battle, and the ominously darkening sky raised the potential for casualties. Gritting my teeth with gumption, I refused to stop; I would march on until I could no longer stand.
Most individuals leave behind their legacies in the form of either real or financial assets. Ideally, an individual will make plans to transfer their legacy to desired parties before the end of their existence. In addition to real estate and other belongings, beneficiaries
Now I have one thing to ask of you. Tonight, as we cross this finish line before us and set forth upon our next journey, strive to make a difference. Get involved to make our country a better place. Use teamwork to bring our people and the whole world together. I know to me personally, making a difference in our country and our world is paramount. Next week, I leave for the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.
...th this single life that I have been given. I am going to touch as many other lives as I possibly can. The moments we spend leading others to find their own personal definitions of happiness are worth so much more than ours alone. Sometimes to see the beauty and meaning in the small things, we must rid ourselves of all the "fluff' that threatens to distract us. Time is too precious and our gifts, as leaders, too valuable to be wasted on things that do not touch our hearts.
With so many people in the world leaving an impact can be hard. But for me, I hope to leave one, no matter how small, that radiates positivity and enables others to be great. With my plans to teach ESL I want to instill in my students a love of learning the language that helps them to grow as people and possibly helps them plan their pathway for the future. With my plan to become a translator I hope to bring wisdom and knowledge from one end of the world to the other so that more can be inspired by it. But the impact I truly hope to have is to be an inspiration for someone.
... to spend some time with my friends also as my friends will also be of my age at that time and they will understand me the best. One day I have to die, as death is a natural process but after dying my real legacy would be my values to my children and my grandchildren. I want that when I die, my children and society remember me as a good person who was always able to act upon her values. As children also learn from their parents so I want my children to get a treasure of good values from me, so that my values could help them to handle various situations in life. I want them to remember with a feeling of proud for me. I want to end my life in such a way that I complete all my purposes for which I have born on this earth as we all have got only one life, so it is really precious, that’s why I want to end my life meaningfully and worthwhile.
I will carry forward with me this wisdom most of all. That I can accomplish anything that I set out to do. I also have gained a newfound understanding to the famous saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” When I first met Terri I was actually clueless about everything that she had been through in her life. She lives an ordinary life, spending time with
The greatest and wisest of philosophers and historians once knew of a story that is filled with mystery and curiosity. It has been said, that several centuries before present time, a community flourished in what is now the Philippines. The place was like those that you would see in films that featured the ancient times - festivals full of arts and music, peasants and farmers working with utmost passion, denizens swaying to beats with drunken revelries. Innovation and progress developed in the land without bound. Though the pre-colonial Philippines lived in the most simple of ways, it was a community of unlimited potential. The other merchants and communities several seas away heard of the the unparalleled glory of this mighty land and even thought that it would go on to form eons of existence.
...ok up to. Every time I travel somewhere in the community they always ask are you related to Roger? I tell them yes with pride and they say you are a very lucky girl. I tell them no I’m not but I will tell you one thing I’m grateful and honored to be his granddaughter to a wonderful man. I want to be well known in the community and nationwide. I will strive to be the best I can be to become like my role model. To have people look at yours truly like a great boss. To be outgoing and friendly to all clients and guest. To extend my life long goal to achieve my high expectations for my dream job. To catch my dream job I need to gain experience to achieve my goal. To have the knowledge that I need to be successful. I need to become a CEO that has a much pride as my grandpa. When I create my dream job I will become my success in my future, I will have my new tomorrow.
