Learning Resources Center and Its Services There are many people that graduated from Cypress College with excellent grade because they have used the services of the Learning Resources Center (LRC). The LRC divided into many small different sections such as Learning Success Center (LSC), Math Success Center (MSC), and the computer lab center to help students with their different need in study. First center is the learning success center. This place calls a learning success center because it has some strategies that can help students realize and practice their study habit. For instant, when people came in and do not know what to work on, they might give those students a Directed Learning Activity (DLA) about how to do well in college. -Focus on strengthening the curriculum. Subjects should help student in the future. Introduction of GE courses in high school, instead of introducing GE courses in college.
Assessing learning needs is the first step mentioned. It is important to establish where our population of learners is in order to tailor the best educational program for them. In order to do so, a variety of methods can be used. Some of those proposed are surveys, interviews and quality assessment/improvement data, among others and will also be used to define the audience. Once the needs assessment has been done, it will provide the foundations from which we can move forward.
Students are always encouraged to ask questions and ask for help, and answers or assistance are provided through different ways. We have programs such as Title One, which is a group getting together for help on a subject, that are always happening. At Blessed Trinity, I have been taught that knowledge can not be possible without help, which is presented to us in many
In this book Terry Doyle addresses the issue of improving undergraduate education by creating a learner-centered environment. The primary focus of the book is to reach the college and university faculty. The book is intended to give them guidance in how to get students to learn more and to learn it better. Part of the process to reach the faculty involves persuading the students that this learner-centered environment that gives them responsibility for their own learning is the best approach for success. The book provides the tools needed to understand the learner-centered classroom, and how to implement it with the students.
But is this really helping a student succeed? How are they going to succeed if they have not gained any knowledge? It is not right for someone to give a student a grade they do not deserve. Stuart Rojstaczer in “Grade inflation Gone wild” has an interesting opinion on students. He says, “When students walk into a classroom knowing they can go through the motions and get a B+ or better, that’s what they tend to do, give minimal effort”(75).

First, understanding that children may have a preferred learning style, she incorporates into her lesson plans the strategies which address visual learners, kinesthetic learners, and audio learners. Most children do not have just one learning style, therefore, they benefit through different learning centers. Learning centers include the science center, the math center, the art center, the library, the writing center, and the dramatic play center. Next, she uses teacher centered strategies to lead many of her lesson plans so that she can guide and coach the children through the activities. Since the children are very young, she feels modeling and coaching the children are the most productive techniques. She does try to create lesson plans that vary in complexity and challenge the children based on their own ability
In the course itself and in each module students would be provided with opportunities to interact and connect with other students and the instructor. I enjoyed the first learning activity of observation and can see this class getting into the mentality of education. I got this same thing from MGMT class and was surprised there too. I knew some about cognitive development prior to this class with the studies I have done, but I can still see the advantages of learning a new perspective.
