Leading With Vision
All companies must have a vision, without one, it is difficult to create goals. As a leader in any company, it is important that we know the mission, vision and goals of the company in order to model this for our teams. Good oragnizations convey a strong vision of where they will be in the future. (MODYUKE) Creating appropriate goals to drive the vision is vital for the success of any company. Goal setting is an improtant role in sharing the vision and goals with the team. Gaining their buy in and commitment will ultimately help create effective teams. As leaders, it is also important that we follow up with our teams and give coaching and training when needed. Leaders must also remember that, "leadership is influencing others to truley want to achieve a goal." (Mod 4) All of this together will create well informed teams working toward the same goals for the company.
The Importance of vision and goal setting as a leader
According to The U.S. Army Handbook, there are four charactoristics for goal setting. The first two are goal difficulty and specificity. It's important that the goal is attainable and appropriately difficult. Too little or too much can cause motivation to decrease as well as productivity. In our prior modules, we learned about speicific recognition being more beneficial than general, the same applies when defining goals. Clearly defined goals will lead to better results, because the team member knows the expectations, and knows how to achieve them.
The third and forth characteristics for goal setting, according to the U.S. Army Handbook, are feedback and participation in goal setting. A good leader provides feedback that is honest and timely. For the most part, ...

...ccessful companies sell the vision of the company with positive energy and a positive attitude that is contagious. (MOD) In addition, highly trained team members who take part in their goal setting process are likely to achieve their goals as well as perform well in their positions. Including leaders that are positive and passionate about their goals will further create a positive environment for meeting the goals set byu the company.

When then leader measures what was supposed to happen with what actually happened, the leader and involved personnel will then find out if the job was completed to standard. Also the leader needs to know from the personnel involved, what to keep doing and what can be done different to get those same or better results. All feedback should be honest and factual. This is the information that the leader will use to makes thing better; to make the operation run more smoothly. All of this defines the most successful and impactful Army leaders.
Envisioning goals: Focus on the right direction to help the group manage the organization in both long term and short term goals.
Goal attainment: Leadership involves goal attainment. It includes attention to goals and directs a group of individuals towards accomplishing a defined task or goal.
Many individuals in our military today have this notion that just because they earned their “stripes” that they automatically deserve respect, and that their subordinates should and will listen to them strictly because of what is on their chest. A true leader not only leads, develops, and mentors, but they embody and apply those leader competencies in their everyday life both on and off duty. Being a leader doesn’t mean you always have to be the mean guy. It means that you can successfully provide purpose, direction and motivation to make your Soldiers want to work for you to accomplish the mission. The set goals should also be those that are favourable to the workers, as well as the management team as a whole. This is to ensure that they can be met easily without much difficulties involved.
The case study provides good examples of a commander working to develop his leaders. LTC Fullerton first scheduled interviews with his primary staff and senior NCOs to identify their skills, strengths, and weaknesses. The theory of goal setting was developed by Edward Locke and Gary Latham (1990) and states that there is a direct relationship between the setting of specific high goals and task performance. A higher degree of employee performance is obtained when specific goals are set compared to the performance achieved when employees are simply told to do their best (Latham & Locke, 2007). These findings have helped shape leadership styles and improve employee performance and job satisfaction (Posthuma & Al-Riyami, 2012).
The managers must set organizational goals aligned with the company mission. This will provide a strategy for achieving those goals. For example, planning can be seen at every level such as creating goals for sales as well as for the customer experience (Higgins, 1994).

An Army leader shapes his subordinates, stimulates their minds, and endorses motivation. An Army leader is a concept embodied by everyone in the Army despite what rank they have on their chest. At every level low to high, a leader’s actions affect people around them and may even have effects that go beyond what is expected. An Army leader’s intelligence is affected by five conceptual components that work hand in hand to define a leader; Mental Agility, Sound Judgement, Innovation, Interpersonal tact, and Domain Knowledge. Learning about these components shows me that recent events and mistakes have shown I do not yet fully embody all components, and it has given me insight on how to develop my weaknesses and improve myself to embody a leader

A clear goal is one that can be measured and leaves no room for any type misunderstanding, the goal of this case is indicated in the introduction paragraph of what they would like the organization to achieve. It also leaves for one to understand what the outcome will be at the end of the exercise.
Positive leaders have an image, a sense, and a reason. They understand and are able to articulate, trust in, and breathe a comprehensible idea or visualization. Purpose requires them to concentrate on long-term calculated goals. Remember to ask the question: What really motivates the personnel?
Company goal is to educate us on the many options that will assist us in realizing our full potential and take to action to create the results we desire. From communications to goal setting and time management, we can all become more effective in our work and relationships.

The above analysis definitely reveals that perhaps one of the reasons why these companies are the leaders in their industry is because they are well aware of the importance of the work force. They mention in their mission statements as well that yes in deed customers are important but in order to make the customer happy they first need to motivate and satisfy the employee as well. According to Citibank, the general belief is that a happy worker is a motivated and loyal one. So keeping employees' spirits high is a sure-fire way of maintaining a productive workforce. A productive work force would ultimately lead to a healthy organization which would not only promote the society its working for but also itself.
GOALS:- an organization exist to make profit and to achieve profit; several goals needs to be achieved. A manager needs to be clear about his ideas when stating the goals of the organization. There are few characteristics which a goal shoul contain:-
