I chose to do my research career as a lawyer because I find law very interesting and I love to help people out in tough situations. Legal history is connected to the development of civilization. Becoming a lawyer takes a lot of hard work and commitment. Many people choose to go in the career of being a lawyer. In 2014 there were 778,700 people employed as lawyers in the United States. If you are dedicated you will be able to accomplish you goal of becoming a lawyer.

You should have experience arguing cases for people's rights. If you are meant to be a lawyer arguing for someone's rights should come very natural.
If you were to decide that becoming a lawyer was way too much for you to handle there are other careers in this field that might suit you better. A paralegal is another career in this field. What you do is help organize files and maintain data. A mediator helps people who are in an argument come to an agreement. A court reporter is someone who puts recordings or spoken words into a written paper. All of these alternative careers in law take less education and time.
Although becoming a lawyer make take a lot of time and a lot of work there are some very good benefits. You will have a wide selection of career options, financial rewards, mental stimulation, flexibility and skills that transfer. Once you decide to retire as a lawyer you can still work as a judge, majority of judges were lawyers in their past. You always want to be educated about your job so if you were to chose to advance your career to being a judge you would want to educate yourself on how to do
