In social life, laws play a very important role. It ensures the existence and proper development of society in general and human morality in particular. Laws sometimes are very strict and do not satisfy everyone but it is a very effective tool in management. Without laws, people would totally have freedom but at the same time, the disorder will break down the civilization of a society. Lord of the Flies is athe novel about athe group of British boys that builds up their own society on a deserted island after a plane crash without any adults. Different positions affects to the way they behave in the novel. Through the novel, laws and orders breaks down due to the conflicts between the boys.

Who are you, anyway? Sitting there- telling people what to do. You can't hunt, you can't sing— I'm chief. I was chosen. Why should choosing make any difference? Just giving orders that don't make any sense—” (98). Jack clearly shows his disagreement with Ralph. Anger from not being elected leader plus being ordered by under Ralph creates conflict with Jack. As he starts to get tired of the responsibilities, the rules and orders begin to lose all meaning to him. While Ralph keeps telling people what to do to help them get rescued, Jack totally does not care about that, all he wants is to haveing power and hunting. However Ralph’s deep thinking still leads him to just doing positive things and to save everyone. “Just a smoke signal so we can be rescued. Are we savages or what? Only now there’s no signal going up...And they all think he is the best as chief.”(188) Jack’s hunting is more about his selfishness than providing food for the other boys. He does not believe that Ralph’s rules can help him to survive on the island.
