The joy of sitting in a chamber surrounded with legal books and case files, is just unmatchable. Roaming around in court corridors, working on a new case every week, diligently following the written rules and the laws, seeing only black and white filling colors in the life of millions stuck in the vicious judicial cycle. That’s how I discovered passion for legal world.
I was just another confused young girl walking with millions. I always wanted my career to be my identity. But, the struggle always remained choosing the right career. However, year 2007 changed the course of my life. I went to a dinner party at a family friend’s house, who was a lawyer. This was the first time I came in touch with the legal world. The more I learnt about it

Being a science student it was a little difficult initially, understanding the world of law. The day I stepped into the law school I did develop an affinity for academia and an urge to learn more. Within three months of entering the law school, the first moot court competition was announced. I decided to be a part of it, and again surprisingly I won best researcher award and was chosen for the prestigious Rajanand national moot court competition, the competition earned my team praises and ‘Spirit of Rajanand’ award, which was a special mention award. Everything happened in the first year of college. I remember the judge telling me that ‘I have exceptional researching capabilities’.
This was the first time I got in touch with the Intellectual Property Right Law and the field of researching. Gathering data, reviewing previous literature, and ultimately offering my own contribution to legal knowledge became thrilling. Researching and analyzing became my strong points and being an IP lawyer became a dream. Inspired by the idea of getting practical exposure and the urge to explore, I started interning in different law firms, both IP and non-IP. The experience made my decision of becoming an IP lawyer more

. I have loved every minute of my work: especially the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge projects and discuss ideas with experienced professionals. . I soon realized that, although I enjoy handling the complex cases and finding the results, but my ultimate goal is to be a part of building the legal infrastructure of Intellectual Property Law and Information Technology Law. Enrolling in a master's program will enable me to explore my interests and make a more informed decision about the specific discipline I want to study in
...hat of how to apply law effectively. Now, I’m able to participate in casual conversations about sports, but I’m more interested in conversing about the structures of free agency, labor-related issues and the drafting and negotiation of contracts.
I hope that through this experience I can grow my understanding of the legal system and its affects on others. I feel as though working diligently with those who are in dire need of legal help will advance me in the path of law at a rapid pace. Being immersed with people who have
Gaining an in-depth knowledge of the criminal justice system, throughout my Bachelors program has been exciting as much as an eye opener. Some of the subjects were ones that I did not expect. There were also, ones that had no idea how ignorant I was on the subject.
My major is Paralegal Studies and I expect to graduate with an Associates of Arts degree in December of this year. Many years ago, as an investigator for both a private company and a county agency, I was introduced to the legal field. Recently, I was awarded the opportunity to attend college, so I decided I wanted to reenter the legal profession as a paralegal. The paralegal profession appeals to me, because I enjoy the processes of developing a case, as well as its legal aspects. A paralegal is involved in a case from the beginning to the end; from the initial client interview to assisting the attorney during the client’s trial or the settlement process. My goal is to become a paralegal for a solo practitioner or a small firm in my local area who represent clients in different areas of the law.
My personal and educational growth in college and subsequent professional experience provided an avenue for a career choice, working in law. I have learned that the law protects on all levels from the multi-million dollar client to the single mom who can barely feed her children. It is through this that I can continue to make a difference in my and others’ lives. Emory Law offers me the opportunity to further my goals through its International Humanitarian Law Clinic, Volunteer Clinic for Veterans, and the multiple of chances to help others through my blossoming legal knowledge while in school. All of these would add pieces of my puzzle and help bring into focus the bigger picture of my puzzle. Through attending Emory Law I will continue to create change through helping and ultimately find where I fit in this greater human puzzle.
My first exposure to the criminal justice system was while in high school when I was fortunate to be chosen for an internship with a District Judge John Vance in Dallas, Texas. Judge Vance made certain I had a rich and varied experience. He had me to sit in on several high profile cases in his court and to participate in preparing cases for trial with a prosecutor and defense attorney. In addition, he encouraged me to visit other courtrooms and courthouses to observe the proceedings. This along with him coordinating visits at local jails and law enforcement agencies gave me a broad and well-rounded perspective of the criminal justice system. I recall fondly, sitting in on closing arguments at the federal courthouse; the prosecutors practiced
College Admissions Essay If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there.
A predominant one are “legal advice clinics” set up by law schools which present an excellent opportunity to gain experience working on cases whilst also developing their key legal skills, supervised by an experienced practitioner. One example is the Northumbria Student Law Office, a successful clinical legal education scheme by Northumbria University [8], where students take part in a legal advice and representation scheme as part of academic development, covering a wide range of legal areas such as housing, family and employment [9]. Others include “Streetlaw”, where links are built with schools or community groups to assist students in researching certain areas of law, then prepare and deliver interactive workshops on them; volunteering with legal organisations (eg. Citizens Advice Bureau) to give advice or assist them in their services; work on cases involving potential miscarriages of justice (“Innocence Project”); and enhance advocacy skills through the Free Representation Unit (FRI), among others [10].

College isn't just a great opportunity, but can also be life changing. Attending Harvard University will be one of the greatest opportunity for me, due to their vast activities and outstanding educational programs.
As I open the glass doors and step into Palmieri Tyler Law firm, I can still feel that rush of excitement I felt since day one. Working at Palmieri Tyler Law firm has been both rewarding and a privilege. I still remember my first day as an intern, as I walked in, I was rapidly introduced to a respectful paralegal who was working on a major project. As we shared a few words she then asked for my help and so I began my first project at the law firm. I was responsible for creating new labels for her folders and re-organizing the files effectively in order to create a more efficient filing system.
Perhaps one of the most difficult aspects of the practice of law is learning to be a lawyer. Virtually every new lawyer today is a graduate of law school, a much dreaded, but fulfilling journey to practicing law. Modern law schools differ greatly from their earlier counterpart, in that many more requirements and responsibilities exist. In colonial times, students pursuing a career in law would enter institutions for instruction of the law, and would automatically become qualified to practice law in the courts after a few years of study. Today, however, becoming a lawyer takes much more training, rigorous work and effort, and many years of studying in order to take a bar exam of which passage represents qualification. There is much more consideration concerning who is admitted, what kind of curriculums are taught, how exams are offered, what kinds affiliation exist, how much law schools differ from one another, and what it ultimately takes to be fully competent as a practicing attorney.
For my field experience, I chose to attend a court case. On October 14th, 2015 I went to the District of Columbia court and watched a sentencing. It was not at all what I initially expected although after sitting in class for several weeks I was not shocked by it. What surprised me most was the informal, personal nature that the whole process had. The experience was interesting and I feel that I learned a lot from it.
