The LCAP program is designed to prepare students for their future it also allows students to give back to their community and gain experience from it. This program helps students get experience in different field areas. I volunteered at AMITA Health Care. I was assigned to check patients in for MR scans CT scans and help them find rooms. I also delivered flowers to ill once. I was also a cashier in the gift shop. I enjoyed this experience learned a lot from it. I will never forget this experience.

at, and threatening me. In these kinds of situations, it is important to remain calm and have patients because if you don't then you can make a mistake and cause more problems. Also, being patient allows people to think more and they can do better in stressful environments. In the future if someone is to become a doctor then he or she will be in life or death situations which can cause a lot of stress. If these doctors have patient and calm, then the stress will go away. This will have a lasting effect on me because I will be able to use these skills throughout any situation I have to face. I got to learn more about customer satisfaction.
When I was working in the gift shop I always helped customers find the perfect gift for. Then once they purchased it, I would wrap it up and put a bow tie on it. The customers would be really happy. In people plan into going into business and plan to open there own store this is excellent service because once you provide extra service to the customer they will come back and recommend the store to their friends. I enjoyed the gift shop experience because I learned many business techniques and how to deal with unsatisfied customers. For example, a few weeks ago, I was working as a cashier and this one person came up to be and said this item broke. I asked him on what day did he buy it and he said last year, I told him I could not do anything because it had been more than 30 days. The customer got really angry and started swearing at me. I told him to calm and I went to talk to my supervisor. She told me I couldn't give him the refund but I could give him a free item. I told the guy I could not give him a refund my I could give him a free movie ticket. He said ok and I have him the movie ticket. He seemed really happy and said sorry his attitude. This taught me that not every customer will be happy and some will try to scam people so that they can get free stuff, but at the end it is your decision whether or not you want to help that customer or
not. Finally, I learned that it takes a lot of commitment to do this. This hospital could not be run without the commitment of the volunteers. This hospital counts volunteers to show up. Without the volunteers this hospital may have never been so successful as it is today. When applying to jobs commitment is everything. Companies want to know whether your committed or not because if you’re not then this shows company that this person won’t be dedicated to their work and won’t put full effort. If you are dedicated, you can help the company become more successful. During my experience, I learned that when you don’t show up it becomes hard for the other volunteers because it requires them to do more work. If everyone is committed, then the organizations can work as a whole and everybody can enjoy it more. In conclusion feel that I have changed from this experience because I now understand life isn’t all fun and games. In our society, many people experience hardship which isn’t fun. The people you don’t see the struggles that these people go through which is really sad. Before this experience, when I saw people experiencing hardship, I thought “this is normal, people can learn how to deal with it”. Now, I realized that this could happen to anyone regardless of age, gender, and race. When anyone faces hardship it’s really hard to deal with, but with the help of family and friends we help can help them overcome this challenge. During my LCAP experience I believe AMITA Health Care provides acts like a family and provides the support for those facing hardship or those in need of support. I learned a lot from this experience and will never forget of it.
Many adults also hold onto the ideal that teenagers and children are the people who are rude and inconsiderate to those who work in retail. However, this is commonly not the truth. Over the course of this class I feel like I have become a much better writer. When I go back and look at some of my Journal entries and assignments that I did at the beginning of the semester, I can’t help but tense up at some of the things I wrote. Complaints are a good form of feedback. They're a few steps to follow in handling difficult situations. The first is to Focus and listen to the customer. The next is to be courteous and discreet, if possible take the customer away from others. Then suggest way(s) to fix the problem, if nothing can be done thank the customer for bring the problem to your attention. If you can't fix the problem go to somebody who can but stay there to make sure the problem is resolved. When one looks at their life, at any stage in which they live, it is pivotal to see clearly how they are finding meaning, purpose and direction within their daily decisions. Romans 11:36 centers our attention on Christ, from whom we derive all answers to origins, meaning, morality, destiny and identity for our lives: “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. (ESV).” Not only does the most credible book ever written support this thesis, but in “Making Sense of your World,” it is strongly communicated that “God alone is the ultimate reality and everything else is derived from him (Phillips, Brown, Stonestreet, 2008, p. 44).”

After being an elementary education and special education major at Ball State University, I have had many new teaching experiences. This semester, I was given the opportunity to teach at Burris Laboratory School. It was great to observe a classroom with a teacher who had been teaching for so long! Although I know there will be challenges, I want to continue in the teaching program. EDEL 200 has allowed many experiences that has shown me how to be a successful teacher.
