The great feeling of volunteerism makes you want to do it more. As the quote from Aesop says, no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Everyone has the opportunity to serve other. Volunteering is something you do not for the money, but for self-satisfaction that you helped someone else. Any time someone helps another without being asked they are volunteering. Many people volunteer but inside they really wish they were out having fun, but I volunteer for the look on the child’s face when he/she learns something new.
Volunteering is truly an amazing experience that I recommend each individual to do in their life during their spare time because it could benefit you with developing new skills and help others in their life. So far in my high school career, I have volunteered for many different organizations and some of those organizations helped other people. I have enjoyed volunteering very much and the ones that have changed my life and helped me become the person who I am right now are volunteering at the Longmont Public Library, St.vrain Habitat for Humanity, and packing food for homeless people at my church.

Everyone must help to have functionality, balance, and unity so that everything can flow properly. From the age of 3 volunteering has played a part of life, of course, when I did, I didn’t know it, but I think that is what makes it even more special. When you are willing to reach out and help someone without an incentive you are doing good for yourself, community and other people. Even if it is asking the teacher if you could help clean up the class. The first time I fully understood what volunteering was when I volunteered for The Salvation Army to serve a Christmas dinner in 2005. I didn’t understand why I was there instead of opening my toys I had received, but then when I saw all the other kids who had nothing to look for except the dinner they were eating, my heart was instantly humbled and pouring with compassion. Ever since then I have known that volunteering wasn’t about myself, but about changing lives and communities. Since I am older I am able to make an impact on a larger scale. I plan to do this by improving the look of communities with DIY projects to help give the communities, schools and shelters a better appearance during the summer. Volunteering allows you to be more social. Would you rather stay home playing video games all day like a koala or go out or would you help the community? In life (not only school or your job) you will need to be a person that someone can admire you because you have taken off time off of your day to help them. Schools are asking you to volunteer for your own good. People can look up to you and you can gain some knowledge by making friends with those people you were being nice to. Also you will get some trust throughout the community. Helping others can really make you get used to being nice to others. For example, helping people in an orphanage can make the orphan’s day better because they know that people actually care for them and that they are respected in some way. Also, schools know how other successful kids became successful. How do you think schools came up with volunteerism becoming
As said above volunteering could be where a person meets new people and connect with others. It could also help those who volunteer learn new things about society and what is around them.
