Overview Kanye West is one of the most influential and controversial hip hop artists of the last few decades. To start, Kanye has won 24 games in total over the past few years. He made his name through an American hip-hop recording label called Roc-A-Fella Records. Where Jay-z also started. His first single was called through the wire. It was named this because he got into a car crash and they had to sew his jaw shut. The song later got streamed on MTV, which gave him a big jump start. And now has around 3 million streams. Then he released his own solo album called Collage Drop Out with around 2 billion streams. But when he was three years old, he moved to Chicago, Illinois because of his parents divorce. Then in 1944, he graduated from Polaris High School and received a scholarship to attend Chicago’s American Academy of Art. That school is where he studied painting. He then transferred to Chicago State University where he majored in English Literature. After that things went downhill for Kanye. According to the New York Times “In October, his behavior began to have an impact on the more lucrative corner of his empire — fashion — as he came under fire for making a series of antisemitic remarks, including accusing Jews of a “Holocaust” against Black Americans.” His first solo, through the wire, was meant to be dropped in August 2003 but got postponed until February 2004. And his first album was dropped in January 2004 as well. And in 2005 Kanye won a Grammy for the best music album. Then in 2009 Kanye paired with Nike to make Yeezys, which now cost almost one million dollars for just one pair. And in 2013 he released Yeezus, which was one of his most diverse albums. And in 2018 he made a sweatshirt brand partnering with Kid Cudi called Kids See Ghost. Then in 2021 Kanye gained irreversible recognition because of the contributions he made to Jay Z’s The Blueprint. And after that, Kanye’s supply increased dramatically. And just recently in February of 2024 he dropped another album called VULTURERS 1, parenting with TY Dolla Sign. Which then brought him back up to number one most listened to artist, passing Taylor Swift. And just a few days later, he went on an ad in the Super Bowl to advertise
