During the darkest year of my life, try to make friends or even speaking would give me surges of panic throughout my body. Fall into a self-confident crisis, K-pop was there to brighten up my days little by little.
My parent says it's pretty absurd that I listen to a language that I don't even understand and that I should listen to American music that can improve my English. Occasionally, I do listen to American songs, but it doesn't give that magnetic-like-polls that K-pop expressed within. Another reason, K-pop makes it so easier for me to start a conversation with my first friend; Who was wearing one of a group related merchandise. After that, she introduces me to her group of friends. Fortunately, all of them become my group of friend and
lead me away from my darkness. Not long after that, my first friend moved away; cutting all contact. Even though some friendship doesn't last, but I can always make a new one. Moreover, now with K-pop, I make friend with random fanboys and fangirls; while doing volunteer work, playing an online game (that person was all the way from Iceland, lol), and "future" college professor. I even pull my mom into the hellhole that is K-pop (she was complaining about it * *), her long-lost "son"(my "Long-Lost brother" she said) is one year older than me named, Park Jihoon (yeah, I'm an only child). Therefore, this is a letter thanking K-pop for the entrainment and stress relives. Even turning my mom from hater-to-lover, applause for them.
I have listened to country music since I was a little, as did my husband. For him, it's a reminder of a simpler time, helping his father farm, plowing fields into the night. For me, it's a reminiscence of sunning myself in my backyard over summer vacation. The twangy sounds of the guitars and the fiddles always seemed to make me feel at home. For me, country music is a way of life, therefore the reasons I will use in an attempt to persuade you that country music is better than other music include its deep history in America, the quality and content of the music and its relatability.
...gether , and not matter what cultural or language barrier there may be music shows we are all one and the same.
Major social and economical changes occurred in the United States during the time of 1917-1935. At the beginning of the time period the United States military entered into World War I. Over the next twenty-three years’ important events that took place included the Eighteenth Amendment, starting prohibition, the Nineteenth Amendment, giving women the right to vote, and the United States entering into the Great Depression. In chapter three of American Popular Music the author describes these events in direct correlation to the music history. Major points regarding what influenced the nations culture and identity included the popularization of radio, the Jazz Age, and the successful Paul Whiteman.
Music is one of the most powerful and influential language which to many people in
In Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics we are given the Greek term Eudaimonia, its definition being a contented sate of being happy, healthy and prosperous. For Aristotle, Eudaimonia or happiness is our ultimate goal. Aristotle states that most people see happiness as something physical and this way of thinking is faulted because we do not have the appropriate image of a good life. He goes on to tell us that our view is faulted because most people are not virtuous. The reason for the deficiency in virtue found in society is that people are not thought virtue correctly from a young age. Aristotle believes that people can only reach their ultimate goal of happiness by living a virtuous life and making the right decisions. The quote given to us states
From my point of view, Great pop music is an oxymoron. These days' people look to the media for the answer to everything, including what music to listen to, or in most cases what music to play in the back round. I'm not saying all pop fans are closed minded to the point where they listen to the music genre that is currently trendy in hopes of it helping them position themselves socially. I'm also not denying the fact, people like that are out there. In most cases, I think people listen to pop because for some reason they're not involved in another music scene, so it's all they know exists.
But still there are situations where non-western countries listen and buy western music without understanding the English language only because the music is popular mainstream. The idea behind becoming a leader is having a wide market for both local and international music. The US – which has the largest market globally – listens to both local and global music. In fact some of the highest selling music records since the 20th century are not from American but international bands and artists such as the Beatles, Adele, and the Rolling Stones (Olsen, 2004). But the argument remains that it is difficult for musicians who sing in English to break through in multilingual countries. Taylor (2015) the “international music industry’s conservatism and xenophobia make success even more difficult” (p. 97). This lessens the chances the chances of growth in the market.
It is true that music has a compact link to our emotions. Music assists people to overcome the bad situations in their life, just like it did for Sonny, the barmaid, or some other people in the Harlem. Music has a tremendous effect on people’s minds because it makes them feel relaxed and comfortable, especially with the soft classical music. It helps distressed people stay smooth and peaceful. In fact, music is a remarkable way to ease stress.

A mixture of western and eastern music, Korean Pop, or Korean Pop, has boomed as fans drool over the idols, their dance moves, and their combination of Asian culture with Western hip-hop verses, Euro-pop choruses, rap, and even some dubstep. Korean Pop hit the waves in Asia quickly becoming popular in China, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, and many other countries (John Seabrook, 2012). The Korean Wave has continued to spread throughout the East to countries farther west such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, and others, which are quickly getting drawn into the fan base (Clair Weber, 2014).
How do we choose the music that we listen to? We could be affected by the music itself, the lyrics could touch us on a personal level, or we may have a predisposition to a certain genre of music due to the geographic area we live in. Our background and upbringing can even play a role in our musical choices. However we come to that ultimate decision, how many of us actually pay close attention to the language used in the songs that we like? Could it be that some of our favorite artists or compositions actually contain language that can be considered sexist or harmful?

I began to realize how many people acquire some form of hurting and abuse in their life. I began to realize what troubles at home actually meant. Because of listening to music that gets categorized as Pop Punk, I became more relatable to situations that no one wants to talk about. With phrases like “I am scared I am going to die as lonely as I feel” is how a vast majority of people feel. Granted no one is comfortable with talking about that at social gatherings, it is frowned upon. This aids as a catharsis for my feelings, as well as for anyone’s
The genre of pop rock has taken the music industry by storm, giving record companies enormous amounts of power and endless financial success along with a way to reproduce it. Owing its popularity to the “light” nature and simplistic, yet catchy melodies, pop music is one of the broadest genres. There’s no way of clearly defining parameters as to what distinguishes a pop music song from other genres. This is largely due to the genre's’ reliance on popularity. Pop music has taken many forms over the decades, keeping characteristics through each generation it passes through.
