Justin Bieber, like most children, generally resorts to the Red Herring Fallacy as a natural go-to when he is accused of misbehaving and he is asked to justify his mischievous actions. Unfortunately, unlike most children, Justin Bieber has to answer to more than just his parents. He has to explain his actions to his agent, public relations representative, and his adoring fans. Rather than accept the fault for his indiscretions, Bieber uses diversionary tactics and repeatedly explains that he is just a kid, and he is still learning from his mistakes. Justin Bieber has proven that he is a terrible role model for his fans when he used the Red Herring Fallacy after he was criticized for making inappropriate comments during a visit to the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam; after being charged for vandalizing a hotel building in Brazil; and when he was accused of causing $20,000 in damages to his neighbors home.
According to an article published on CNN.com: In April of 2013, during a trip to Amsterdam, Justin Bieber received tons of criticism for writing, what was construed as, a self-centered and extremely vain comment in the guest book of Amsterdam’s Anne Frank House that read, ”Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber" (Duke "Justin Bieber Hopes Anne Frank 'would Have Been a Belieber'"). People believed his comment was inappropriate in regards to a historical figure such as Anne Frank. Rather than deal with the issue head-on, Bieber posted shirtless photos of himself on the internet via Instagram, instead of an apology, in an attempt to distract from the relevant issue. This type of behavior is inexplicable for someone with such an abundance of talent that could be better served by setting a more respectable examp...

...s he finds it easier to avoid issues as opposed to accepting fault and correcting his mistakes. He has made it clear that he prefers to avoid topics concerning his misconduct by attempting to divert media attention through various methods such as using the Red Herring Fallacy technique. It is unfortunate to see the degeneration of a child who, seemingly, has so much potential. Hopefully, this is just a terrible phase that Justin will eventually grow out of, and he will ultimately learn to use his fame as an avenue for sending positive messages while becoming a role model for his fans.

In June 2014, Justin Bourque was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder after shooting three RCMP officers and wounding two others in Moncton, New Brunswick (Chronicle Herald 2014). He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for seventy-five years (Chronicle Herald 2014). Bourque’s sentencing is unprecedented and is the longest sentence in Canadian history (Chronicle Herald 2014). A Canadian judge has not given a harsh a punishment since the final executions in 1962 (Chronicle Herald 2014).
In a case similar to Fraser, a student was sent home twice for wearing a Marilyn Manson t-shirt with a three-faced Jesus on the back. The t-shirt also referenced biblical statements that were deemed inappropriate and disruptive to the learning environment. The court found that the school had the right to impose action for words or phrases that were considered vulgar and offensive. Just as with the Fraser case, the ethical significance is that students do not have the right to wear articles of clothing that depict messages or images in an offensive, public manner.
I was talking with my aunt about current events, to the extent a thirteen year old can discuss such a thing, and she asked me with a slightly disarming fervor if I was a Kanye West fan. “No” I remarked innocently. “I mean I liked that one song he was on, but I would hardly call myself a fan” I thought. “He’s prejudiced ya know” warned my aunt I found out later that week that the man had apparently made a fool out of himself publicly, jumping on stage and drunkenly trying to disarm Taylor Swift of her newly received VMA Award, declaring “Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time!” At this point the only information I had received about Kanye was that he had made a pretty enjoyable contribution to a song I liked a year ago, and he apparently had acted very rude at some award show.

Imagine finding out your boyfriend is cheating on you with your best friend. Your best friend doesn’t tell you because she wants to save you from a heartbreak, but she wants you to forgive her for stabbing you in the back. You focus your negative energy into your work, only to be told you can’t accomplish anything on your own. Brooke Davis, a female character from One Tree Hill, and Blair Waldorf, a female character from Gossip Girl, are two women that went through these difficulties without giving up. Blair once said, “If you really want something, you don’t stop for anyone or anything until you get it.” Brooke and Blair go through many lessons throughout their life on the show, becoming positive role models for viewers. While Brooke Davis and Blair Waldorf live two completely different lifestyles, Brooke and Blair are both confident, forgiving, and resilient.

In the end, people saw his MTVs Video Music Awards performance. The audience was into his performance clapping, screaming, and getting hyped. At the end of his performance he cried, but many wonder why in the world he was crying for. His ‘Beliebers’, which are his fans like myself explained by stating simply ‘After 3 years of media torture, finally coming back, and receiving a standing ovation.’ Like man I’d cry too to the fact that everyone is on good terms with me and everyone meaning the world after all the things I did. Then we have the beautiful Demi Lovato, which she’s a prime examples for girls to spreading the word to stop body shaming yourself. Demi struggled with an eating disorder and bipolar disorder. When she came back, little Miss Lovato came back with a flat out BANG! She was on top of the world than ever. Her ‘Lovatics’, which are her fans like myself and the world for the most part noticed and loved the new her. Demi made girls who were slang term thick, meaning they have good thick thighs, a flat stomach, and big breast to love how they look. Demi strut her new confidence which had an effect on millions wanting the same
Cultural appropriation is one of the worst phenomena to enter America’s social scope. People are taking aspects of cultures and using them for their selfish gain, undermining and taking away the spotlight of the originators in the process. Many white people have adopted this behavior, seeing it fit that they can steal anyone’s identity even though they have the greatest and ideal identity since the beginning of civilization. Justin Timberlake and Adele Laurie Blue Adkins (also known as “Adele) are primary examples of this ludicrous practice.
Young girls experience stardom and are forever changed by the experience. Sometimes the change leads them in a positive direction and other times it leads them in an opposing negative direction. In Hit Her, Baby, One More Time, Traiste states “Britney Spears embodies the disdain in which the culture holds its young women: the desire to sexualize them while young, and to degrade and punish them as they get older” (Traiste 431). Spears embarked on her journey into entertainment as an innocent young girl. However, over time she evolved into a tainted, dim reflection of her former self. It would seem that even her parents played a role in her spiraling downfall as she struggled to remain in the limelight. Tabloids cherished the young star. However, they ripped her to pieces as her life began to plunge into an abyss. Certainly, there is a high price to be paid to when one compromises.

In his earlier life before becoming famous he had grew up in North Carolina. As a kid his father had said that he had always had a problem with winning. This essay sets out to explain how and why disability has been constructed as a medical problem; additionally, the way in which the medical model has influenced policies and practices for disabled people will be evidenced. According to Brisenden (1986) the term ‘disabled’ is used collectively to describe individuals who do not function the same as people who are classified as 'normal’. However, the Equality Act 2010 defines disability as having a ‘physical or mental impairment that has a substantial and long-term negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities’ (Gov.uk, 2015). Using a range of sources, this essay will succinctly highlight issues surrounding disability during the early twentieth century, before giving a definition

Ever since I was in eighth grade, I have been obsessed with Taylor Swift. She has been my role model since I was thirteen. When you look at most singers today, they have to be singing about drugs or alcohol, using vulgar language, or performing half-dressed. You never see Taylor Swift doing anything that she would be ashamed of later in life. On the other hand, she has had many relationships that have lasted short time periods. At least, she is not getting married for 72 days or even 24 hours such Kim Kardashian or Britney Spears. This is why I chose to write a research paper on her.
When people ask what my favorite sport is, I quickly reply soccer. I never really gave much thought to who my favorite soccer player is until I saw Lionel Messi for the first time. I saw him play for Argentina and he showed me how great soccer really is. He has a great style of both teamwork and individual skill. The ability he has to keep control of the ball is what made me interested in soccer. Without him, who knows if I would even begin to enjoy soccer. He shows both individual skill and the importance of teamwork. He does not only score a ton of goals, but also gives many assists. Lionel Messi, in my opinion, is one of the greatest soccer players in history. Lionel Messi is most definitely one of my role models. Messi doesn’t only teach me how to improve on individual skill but also can show me the importance of not showing off. The soccer skill that this man has is unbelievable. Lionel Messi is a great role model.
