J.k Rowling is considered one of the best writers of our time and has inspired hundreds of millions of fans throughout the world. J.K Rowling has been recognized for her famous series Harry Potter which has been adored by countless people and tells a boy’s story of magic who she has lived with for many years. J.K Rowling has been called the first author ever to make a large amount of money out of books estimating to over $1 billion dollars. Even though J.K Rowling is now a known celebrity, many do not know the life she had to live before. Rowling has faced obstacles and met people throughout her life which helped her shape her books. Rowling has faced grief, sorrow, poverty and isolation which has converted her into the person she is.
Joanne Rowling was born on July 31,1965 in Cottage Hospital in Yate, Gloucestershire to Anne Volant and Peter Rowling. Two years later, Rowling’s sister, Dianne, was born on June 28, 1967 in their home at 109 Sunridge Park. Rowling’s parents first met on a nine hour trip by train from King’s Cross, England to Arbroath, Scotland. The two both worked for the Royal Navy and were eighteen at the time they met and immediately fell in love. They both left the navy months later and married on March 14,1965 and settled in Yate. Rowling had an inseparable relationship with her sister as they were growing up. Rowling and her sister would always play games and most of the time she would tend to be a little bossy. Growing up, Rowling’s parents were very supportive of her and exposed her to reading at an early age. ...hat she was never good at as a child like being a good athlete and being the seeker on the Quidditch team for Gryffindor and Rowling pictured him as an orphan while she grew up with parents and a sister. Rowling personally made him an orphan so that she could improve his courage and make readers connect to him from a different point of view. Rowling also wanted Harry to look and act like a normal human being by making him a bit egocentric and judgmental. At one point Rowling asked herself why she had made Harry a boy instead of a girl called Harriett but because she was too attached to Harry, Rowling kept him as he was. Rowling had already created a storyline, characters, and future ideas for the book by the year of 1990 and decided to keep the idea of Harry Potter to herself because she was scared on other peoples’ opinions and returned to Tutshill for the holidays.
