The definition of a hero is different based on everybody’s personal experience and life choices. However, there is a basic thought process when it comes to what most characteristics people want, such as loyalty, compassion, charismatic, fun-loving and many more. While many people share these characteristics, why we pick people as our heroes is how they present these traits. My current hero, as of just recently, is an actor named Jared Padalecki. Jared plays the tallest brother in the fansty, horror TV show known as Supernatural. While Jared shows an abundance of heroic traits in this essay I will on be talking about three, which is: loyalty, funny, and compassionate. The first trait that I will talk about is how loyal Jared is to his family, Almost eight years ago on the set of Supernatural, Jared had an anxiety attack and soon after was diagnosed with clinical depression. Just last year Jared launched a charity campaign where he sold shirts with his and his co-star’s face, Jensen, on them and a slogan saying “Always Keep Fighting.” When he released this campaign, he took the time to address his fans about his fight with depression and even reached out to his fans that are battling similar problems, telling them that he believes in them and should always push forward. He has helped so many people with their depression or suicidal thoughts that the fans decide to give something back to him. During the 2015 Comic Con panel, the fans in the audience were each given a candle. The were told that when they get the cue to light their candles and chant “Always Keep Fighting” which referenced Jared campaign. The actor was then given a card explaining everything that was going on. Jared had to take a set back and thank everyone that participated in the candlelight. Later on Twitter did Jared truly address what had happened and how grateful he was of everyone at the panel. He was extremely happy about what had happened and the event made his

Many times when people think of a hero, they think of Superman, Batman, and many other Marvel characters who display unattainable superpowers. However, heroes are prevalent throughout the world. A hero can be anyone who has the desire to help others, brave in dangerous situations, and does not look at exterior gain from helping others.
Who is a hero? In contemporary times, usage of the term has become somewhat of a cliché. Over the years, the term “hero” has become representative of a wide variety of individuals, each possessing differing traits. Some of the answers put forth by my colleagues (during our in-class discussion on heroism) as to whom they consider heroes pointed to celebrities, athletes, teachers and family members. Although the occupations differed, each of their heroes bore qualities that my classmates perceived as extraordinary, whether morally or physically. Nonetheless, Webster’s defines “hero” as “a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities.” Thus, it is worth considering that individuals become heroes relative to the situation with which they’re faced.
In this essay I have only shown three, but there are so many more and the traits of a hero are not only restricted to people who save lives, chase bad guys, or change the world. He overcame constant pressures with his determination, led a whole team with his outstanding leadership, and never gave up thanks to his passion. He is a hero to many, no cape, or superpowers needed. So now it’s up to you, is he, or is he not, a

Throughout history, there have always been heroes. Those strong-willed, brave individuals who perform courageous acts for fame and glory are prevalent in most cultures.. Societies have these heroes as standards of their cultures’ moral codes. Every society has their own definition of these codes are, so a unifying definition of hero can be hard to achieve. However, Philip Zimbardo says “Simply put, then, the key to heroism is a concern for other people in need—a concern to defend a moral cause, knowing there is a personal risk, done without expectation of reward.” With this basic definition, I will be examining various epic heroes I’ve studied throughout the course of my senior year for characteristics.
