... acoustic jam that had the crowd swaying to its lifting rhythms and happy-go-lucky lyrics. He then promised to play a little bit of “East Coast and West Coast hip-hop,” a promise he fulfilled near the end of his set by covering a song from both A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar.
While watching the three videos I noticed that tap dancing is more cheerful, fast-paced, and requires more foot/ankle work. The videos all displayed the tappers doing insane stunts (or at least for me). The rhythm was not repetitive. Each step had a different unique sound. The body positions were everywhere they would move all around the room. The tappers would stand still, they were constantly moving around. As for the level of difficulty in my opinion all the moves shown in the videos are challenging.
In Jeff Jacoby’s essay Bring Flogging Back, he discusses whether flogging is the more humane punishment compared to prison. Jacoby uses clear and compelling evidence to describe why prisons are a terrible punishment, but he lacks detail and information on why flogging is better. In the essay he explains how crime has gotten out of hand over the past few decades, which has lead to the government building more prisons to lock up more criminals. His effort to prove that current criminal punishment is not perfect or even effective is nicely done, but he struggled with discussing ways that flogging could lower the crime rates and provide a safer environment for America.

Underground hip-hop is filled with groups such as The Pharcyde, The Roots, Jigmastas, and Jurassic 5 who use live instruments to not only enhance their lyrical talents, but also to give audiences a great show. All four of these groups are dedicated to preserving hip-hop culture. Emcees battle to prove they are iller, Djs do the same thing, and breakers, break dancers, poppers, whatever you want to call them, continue the tradition of mixing their dance art form of popping, locking and spinning using the music to help create different techniques.
In an ever growing industry where masses of bland mc’s come out of the woodwork to drop hooks it’s becoming more difficult to distinguish yourself in the hip hop community. Hip hop is a numbers game and we’re not talking record sales. Each rapper has a distinctive “flow”. Flow in this case refers to the rhythmic structure that is derived from the interaction between the rapper’s words and the musical rhythms of those words. On the other spectrum of hip hop are bars, a bar is simply a musical duration of time, akin to how minutes measure time. When multiple bars are combined they form a verse or hook, and the hooks and verses form the final song that you are more accustomed to. When combined with the nature of their rhymes, or the nature of their sentences, and the repetition of rhymes an artist’s creates their distinctive sound.
More than any other rapper, Dr. Dre was responsible for moving away from the avant-noise and political stance of Public Enemy and Boogie Down Productions, as well as the party vibes of old school rap. Instead, Dre pioneered gangsta rap and his own variation of the sound, G-Funk. BDP's early albums were hardcore but cautionary tales of the criminal mind, but Dre's records with N.W.A. celebrate the hedonistic, amoralistic side of gang life. Dre was never much of a rapper -- his rhymes were simple and his delivery was slow and clumsy -- but as a producer, he was extraordinary. With N.W.A. & C.A. he melded the noise collages of the Bomb Squad with funky rhythms.

The biggest achievement of Herbie Hancock's collection Headhunters set the stage for the ascent of a sub-class of jazz-shake that accentuated funk and other move inspired rhythms. Some were attracted to this style by the suppleness and drive of the rhythms, some by a longing...

Black culture in our society has come to the point where it is allied with pop culture. The most popular music genres, slang terms, to dance forms it all comes from black culture.
