Jack the Ripper was a notorious Nineteenth Century serial killer whose true identity has been surrounded in mystery since the inception of the heinous murders (Newton 112). There exists a plethora of theories on who the real killer was (Newton 112). There was two suspects involved in the mystery, their names were James Kelly and Montague John Druitt (Newton 112). James Kelly was considered a suspect because he killed his wife by having the impression she was a prostitute (Newton 112). Montague John Druitt was considered a suspect because he was found drowned in the Thames River.

Lusk (Newton 115). Mr. Lusk received the package and reported it to the police. The only problem with him reporting it was that he didn’t know who exactly sent it (Newton 115). He went on to kill eight prostitutes before he stopped (Newton 115). Jack the Ripper finally faded away from all the media and no one really paid attention to him anymore (Newton 115).
James Kelly was a suspect for the Jack the Ripper after he accused her for being a prostitute because he killed his wife after she came home later than usual (Trump). Her mom watched him kill her and she called the police (Trump). He was arrested and sent to trial a couple days later (Trump). Broadmoor officially discharge Kelly on account of the failure of the authorities to recapture him (Trump). Kelly arrives at the main gate of Broadmoor and asks to be let in (Trump). He is profoundly deaf and in poor physical condition (Trump). He is readmitted and remains there the rest of his life (Trump).
Montague John Druitt was a suspect in the Jack the Ripper case (Anderson). Druitt was educated at Winchester and New College, Oxford, Druitt was later to graduate with a third class honours degree in the classics in 1880 (Anderson). Druitt was a suspect because he made a suspicious purchase (Anderson). The purchase involved a pair of gloves, black cloak, and a first-class half-season rail ticket from Blackheath to London (Anderson). Second-half return ticket from Hammersmith to Charing Cross dated December 1, 1888 (Anderson).
Around the time police found Druitt’s body the murders had ceased (Anderson). Druitt's own family believed him to have been the ripper (Anderson). On the plus side of this, strong evidence against him, there is a great temptation to declare the Jack the Ripper case closed with the death of Montague John Druitt.
