Ethics is the study of how people should live. people have different views and beliefs of how they're supposed to live their life. people from all over the world have different ethical beliefs and different ways to determine which beliefs are right and which are wrong. when you visit a different country, you notice things they are doing and those things might seem wrong to you and you would never consider doing what they have just done but in their society its normal and everyone does it. inside the margins of this paper I am going to analyze the top three models used to determine a morally significant being based on the criteria in your book. I will first define a moral agent and a morally significant being then take you through the steps to deciding what a significant being is and which criteria you would use for each.
Moral agents are beings that have a full advantage in their society. They are able to create ideas, formulate an action and decipher the differences between right and wrong as well as execute them in a human language all the while, understanding the circumstances associated with their decision making process. We can relate this to ethics because moral agents make decisions determining what has value, what is important, and what has worth to our society. They determine the significance of other beings by careful consideration of the way our society behaves, what is expected from our culture and what our society believes is the correct way to live. Morally significant beings are beings whose interests are taken into consideration by moral agents who are trying to act ethically. Babies are considered morally significant because although they cannot yet make decisions for themselves, the presence of the baby br...

...d they can not contribute anything to our society but their meat to use as our food.
After analyzing the three most common criteria for choosing a morally significant being I conclude that moral agents decide who is morally significant by looking at the interests of the society as well as the interest of the morally significant being and deciding if the morally significant beings interests are comparable to those of a moral agent. in my opinion, ethical relativism is a good concept because people who live together in a society can produce rational ideas which will eventually lead to ethical decisions and after that, laws.

Sometimes in life there are instances in which and individual must make a decision that will question their moral fiber. These instances could vary from whether or not to help others in need, decide whether an action is right or wrong or even when deciding who should live and who must die. How does one logically reason to an ethnical conclusion to these situations?

n this reflective journal entry, we are going to look at that the ethical issues that were presented in the Ethics Game simulations, the decision-making steps that were completed to address ethically the issues, and the ethical lenses that I used to make decisions throughout the simulation. We are also going to take a look at how these different ethical lenses influenced my decision and the how I could use the concepts that I have learned in my workplace.

Ethics are the principles that shape individual lives in modern society. It is a subjective idea that seems to have a standard in society. Ethics and morals are the major factors that guide individuals to make right and wrong choices. Something that is morally right to one person might be the very opposite of what another person would view as right. There are many factors that can trigger a change in an individual’s view of morality.
It has been shown that the topic is and still remains to be controversial. In one instance, and from the view of the retributivists, the death penalty is seen as the appropriate course of action. In another it is seen as immorally wrong and a complete disregard for human life and human rights, with the latter forming the key basis of this argument, which will now be further discussed and analysed using the ethical theory of utilitarianism.
James Rachels expresses his thoughts on what a satisfactory moral theory would be like. Rachels says a “satisfactory theory would be realistic about where human beings fit in the grand scheme of things” (Rachels, 173). Even though there is an existing theory on how humans came into this world there is not enough evidence to prove the theory to be correct. In addition to his belief of knowing how our existence came into play, he also has a view on the way we treat people and the consequences of our actions. My idea of a satisfactory moral theory would be treating people the way we wish to be treated, thinking of what results from our doings, as well as living according to the best plan.
Moral agency is the ability to make a moral judgement on the basis of the common perception of good and wrong in the society and have accountability for these actions. A moral agent is the person who takes this responsibility. Since time immemorial, there have been two forces in the world: good and evil that are determined by a man’s virtue or moral character. To possess a virtue is to be a certain type of person with a particular mind set. Case study analysis Harry, an 80-year old war veteran living in a small townhouse suffered a stroke that paralysed his whole body and was rushed to hospital where he was put under Intensive Care to support his life.

Ethics plays a very important role in one social system and basically on how the people will make their actions or decide on a particular thing on whether it is the right or the wrong thing. Ethical consideration is very important. It helps a person or a group of person understands whether the actions are right or wrong. Ethics is a very critical factor most especially when considering where the ethical standards are to applied. Aside from it, weighing results of actions or decision is also another major concern because of the fact that a person has critically analyze whose side is needed to satisfied. There are instances that moral obligations are also considered, in which moral is defined as a universal accepted personal human behavior that allows a person to decide whether an action or decision is good or bad.
Every day we are confronted with questions of right and wrong. These questions can appear to be very simple (Is it always wrong to lie?), as well as very complicated (Is it ever right to go to war?). Ethics is the study of those questions and suggests various ways we might solve them. Here we will look at three traditional theories that have a long history and that provide a great deal of guidance in struggling with moral problems; we will also see that each theory has its own difficulties. Ethics can offer a great deal of insight into the issues of right and wrong; however, we will also discover that ethics generally won’t provide a simple solution on which everyone can agree (Mosser, 2013).
Ethics is a system of moral principles and a branch of philosophy which defines what is acceptable for both individuals and society. It is a philosophy that covers a whole range of things that have an importance in everyday situations. Ethics are vital in everyones lives, it includes human values, and how to have a good life, our rights and responsibilities, moral decisions what is right and wrong, good and bad. Moral principles affect how people make decisions and lead their lives (BBC, 2013). There are many different beliefs about were ethics come from. These consist of; God and Religion, human conscience, the example of good human beings and a huge desire for the best for people in each unique situation, and political power (BBC, 2013).
Ethical behavior can be considered as behavior that society and other individuals typically believe are good values to possess. Ethical behavior involves demonstrating respect for key moral principles which includes honesty, fairness, diversity as well as individual rights. I believe that ethical behavior is very important within our society because every relationship of any kind must be built on trust in order to survive. There are many purposes of ethics; as it shows that one cannot do without ethics in their lives. Without ethics there would be no need to decide between right and wrong and there would be utter chaos within the world. Most people do not really understand the full importance of ethical thinking; there may be a different code of ethics throughout society but nevertheless the purpose remains the same. I believe the primary purpose of ethics is obviously to be able to distinguish good from bad behavior. Being able to make this distinction will pave the way for success or failure in a person’s life as to whether they can make conformed decisions. Everyone practices morals in some way whether they know it or not, they are implemented into every given situation. Ethics were put into place to be able to do the right thing in certain circumstances in order to maintain an honest and fair society.
