Kara Kreme 1234 Tennis Court Sports, CA 95616 (530) 765-4321 kkreme@email.edu March 1, 2001 Ms. Kristi Krispy, Coordinator The Internship and Career Center University of Somewhere One Chance Avenue Sports, CA 95616 Dear Ms. Krispy, Thank you for the opportunity to interview for the position of Student Advisor this afternoon, Friday, March 1, 2001. It strengthened my interest in the position and reinforced my confidence in my ability to excel should I be selected for the position. My experience working with fellow Somewhere students, organizational skills, and work ethic would benefit students visiting the ICY, and would allow me to grow professionally. My position as a Resident Advisor in Dasher Hall provides me with outstanding training. As we discussed in today’s interview, selection is a very personal issue for most students. As an RA, I am often praised for my ability to work with residents on issues that require sensitivity. I am fortunate to balance my strong people skills with strong organizational skills. I realize that during the interview I may not have emphasized my administrative abilities as fully as I would have liked. Thanks to my summer job with LK&N, I have extensive experience meeting deadlines, maintaining records, and generating reports. In fact, the database I am most familiar with is ACCESS, the program used by ICY Student Advisors. I trust that my ability to perform the job will be evident if you talk with Resident Director Donna Donalds, my supervisor at Somewhere Housing. To verify my administrative skills I encourage you to contact Megan Megster, Customer Records, LK&N, at (999) 454-5454. Her name is not on the Reference Sheet I left with you at the conclusion of the interview. In closing, I would like to restate my interest in the Student Advisor position with the Somewhere Internship and Career Center for the 2001-2002 academic year.
I am writing to ask you to consider me for the Digital Collections & Metadata Assistant position this summer. It is a combination of many things that i’m interested in-- libraries, spreadsheets, and technology-- and for that reason know I would be very well suited to the position.
I would welcome the opportunity to expand upon my application either through a visit to the school and/or at interview.
Please consider my resume for the position of Administrative Assistant, which I learned through Indeed.com. After reading the qualifications and responsibilities, I know that I can be an asset to this position. Going through training at Training Futures, I have acquired office skills that would be beneficial to this position. I believe that with my strong work ethics, skills and experience with customer services, I am well prepared for this position.
I am writing to you to apply for the position of Instructional Assistant. Due to my past experience and deep devotion I have to help young children, I would be honored to be a part of the Gladstone School District.
The word “job” comes across as hard work, and chores, but the thing that is often overlooked is the deeper meaning that comes with it. Many people may look at the residential advisor position and believe they are only there to get the residents in trouble when they break rules. After my observations, interviews and overall reflection on their subculture, I came to the realization that being a residential advisor is much more than writing residents up for alcohol or noise complaints. It is about the relationships built and the idea that you’re helping others the way you were, or weren’t, during your freshman year in the dorms. The RAs may be there for the free room and board as well as the pay, but they are initially there to make the best they can out of the resident’s dorm experience.
I am interested in the Administrative Assistant position in your department at the CMBN. After searching for opportunities, I came across this job posting and was very intrigued. This position offers me the opportunity to use the business skills I possess, while allowing me to become acquainted with a new field of study such as Neuroscience. Reading how the studies help understand the healthy brain, and the numerous neurological diseases that affect it. Providing administrative support for CMBN’s daily operations for faculty, staff, investigators, and students, would be very exciting, and I would love to become a part of your team. It would also prepare me for my own path, while being able to view tasks from a different prospective. With my Associate's in Business from Hudson County Community College, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude,
Another resident assistant that I interviewed was Patrick Fullerton who serves Blanton Hall. His attention to carrying out the position in its entirety showed how I will also need to prioritize my commitments. A resident assistant is first a student and a worker second, so being able to carry out the demands of a RA but acknowledging that school is equally as important is crucial. Patrick’s excitement about encouraging residents exploration of the campus and the Red Hawk experience showed how a resident assistant’s job is never ending. You’re always recreating new ways to redefine the experience at MSU worthwhile especially for first-year and younger students. He spoke so proudly about the various programs, either social or educational, that
I think it is important that residents know me as a staff member that is available, approachable, and resourceful. In class, I learned that observing the daily patterns of residents may be beneficial when responding to an emergency or a non-emergency situation. Noticing the patterns of residents would help me react accordingly and follow up on residents. My goal is to help residents in any way that I can at any time. To be able to reach my goal, it is critical that I am known as approachable and resourceful so that residents are confident enough to ask me for help. For residents to approach me and ask for help, I must be a good role model worthy of
