I am interested in the Administrative Assistant position in your department at the CMBN. After searching for opportunities, I came across this job posting and was very intrigued. This position offers me the opportunity to use the business skills I possess, while allowing me to become acquainted with a new field of study such as Neuroscience. Reading how the studies help understand the healthy brain, and the numerous neurological diseases that affect it. Providing administrative support for CMBN’s daily operations for faculty, staff, investigators, and students, would be very exciting, and I would love to become a part of your team. It would also prepare me for my own path, while being able to view tasks from a different prospective. and my ongoing studies here at Rutgers University Newark, I’ve amassed an excellent amount of knowledge and am eager to compound that with experience in the field. During my regular work week for the past 14 years in customer relations, I acquired experience and management skills, where on various occasions I oversaw the coordination of special projects.
Those duties included coordinating train operators, bus drivers, and other essential project personnel. That afforded me the opportunity to develop my interpersonal skills, to work and make decisions at a fast pace, as well as giving me experience working with a team of my peers and various other age groups. I was able to divide work up amongst the group/groups to maximize our time together and promote collaboration. I learned when to lead, and when to let others more equipped to lead, and when to follow an order to make the session most productive for the entire group. This past year I work as a R.I.S.E. Advisor through the school, where I helped the coordinator of the program update and manage the database of High School seniors we worked with, tracking their progress throughout the year. Also, personally helping students fill out applications to colleges, helping them navigate the FAFSA website, and even develop resumes, just to name a
few. Given my experiences I can use my academic prowess, business acumen, and compounded life experience to facilitate a multitude of tasks including those listed on our Rutgers website for the position. My experiences working with various groups, coupled with my administrative skills and interests would seem to be a great paring. I am excited to get the opportunity to further develop and learn more about this field and the inner workings of this position. I look forward to speaking with you about what I can bring to your team. I would gladly schedule a meeting to discuss future endeavors.
Last summer, I worked at a car dealership in my hometown as a cashier and receptionist. I was responsible for processing large payments, handling both the physical paperwork and the digital orders in our dealer management software. On the reverse side, I worked at Five Guys in a very team-oriented environment. Everyone had their own part to play, but our successes were ultimately a result of how well we worked as a team. This job also taught me how to juggle multiple responsibilities, as we were frequently understaffed and had to jump between positions.
What experiences have you had which prepare you for this position (e.g perhaps as an employee, leader, or working with people different from yourself, etc)?
My most fulfilling leadership experience would have to be starting the 4-H Medical Careers Spin Club. I started the club three years ago, to allow teens to have opportunities to experience the medical field before they spend money on a career they may end up not liking. The Club has been able to tour medical schools, hospitals, cancer centers, and many other facilities. I was instrumental in getting three teens in the club to apply and get accepted to Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Physician Pipeline Preparatory Program I am involved in. Countless people in the medical field kept wanting to help me gain medical opportunities, but HR departments and HIPAA rules kept getting in the way. Through this experience, I learned that
I would like to thank Salish Kootenai College for giving me the wonderful opportunity of applying for STEM academy. If somebody had told me that I would be applying for college classes as a sophomore, I would not have believed them. My parents have always told me that when an opportunity comes, you should take it, and I do not plan on letting this experience go to waste. Education has been a big part of my life, and this academy can only help me move forward. That being said, here are a few reasons why I should be considered a candidate for the STEM academy. Joining the STEM academy will allow me to further my knowledge and help me to get closer to my goals, my academic career would flourish, and I would be closer to my ambition for my future. I am determined to become the best and most educated version of myself that I can possibly be.
After over 15 years of working as a CNA and Caregiver, I decided that I wanted to continue my education in the medical field. In 2013 I took the first step towards gaining a better future with more experience as a medical professional. I enrolled into a Medical Assistant program at IBMC college of Longmont. It has been a long road and I am almost to the finish line having gained essential skills needed to move further into my career. It has been a grueling and eye opening experience for me being an adult learner returning back to school at 33 years of age. I persevered through these pass two years with courage and determination, never letting my short comings get the best of me. As I approach the end of my journey with IBMC I have realized that I have a passion for helping those persons who
I spent two years working on a literary magazine and newsletter, and proved myself enough to grab a higher position my second year. Helping others perform to their fullest with my help is extraordinarily rewarding. These qualities reflected on the two years I spent regularly babysitting after school and on call. Babysitting not only helped me develop my leadership and role model traits, it was also gratifying to know that because I dedicated myself, I was making the lives of parents
Physician Assistant’s are medical providers who, depending on the state, practice on their own, and work under the supervision of a licensed physician or doctor. They complete a master's degree from an accredited physician assistant program. Like physicians, PAs can specialize in a variety of medical specialties. PA’s are specialized in different fields and it just depends on what they studied in college. All physician assistants are alike in their profession, but could be different in many different ways. Some work directly under a doctor/physician at a hospital and see him daily and are told what to do. Others work at their own clinic and see the doctor or physician they work under every once in awhile.
Being a first generation American is a wonderful blessing in many ways, you can strive for opportunities that were probably not available to your parents and you have a lot of control in the way you wish to lead your life. It can also be a great burden however; a lot can be expected of you. My parents immigrated to the United States after living seven difficult years in Jordan as refugees. They fled their home country of Iraq to Jordan with nothing but the clothes on their backs and me as a 6-month old child to escape imminent war. I witnessed my parents make great sacrifices during our time in Jordan, sacrifices they made just for the greater good of their children. So when the United Nations finally granted my family refuge into the United States my parents understood the magnitude of this great blessing.
I chose this topic because for me – as a future specialist in office administration field – this information is very useful. During my research I found answers on questions that I had before, such as the following: What is the role of administrative assistants in a modern company? What career path opportunities are available for administrative assistants? What does an individual need to succeed in the future?
While a main reason I want to attend Macalester is its focus on internationalism and multiculturalism, my community-minded spirit is what I will bring to Macalester. Since the summer, I have been a regular volunteer at the Middletown Springs Public Library. I originally decided to volunteer because I love books and reading, but I soon discovered that the library is as much about building the community through books as it is about the books themselves. Every year on Halloween the library stays open and instead of handing out candy, we hand out books. After a successful evening this year, I went home glad more kids had books, but it wasn’t until the next week that I realized why this event was so important to the librarian, Kimberly. She told me that, surprisingly, she didn’t recognize many of the people who came for books on Halloween. The reason this excited Kimberly was because it meant Trick-or-Treat for Books was reaching more people in the community than just the regulars at the library. It meant that not only were kids given a free book, but that they were learning about the library and all it has to offer year round.
I offer an Associates of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, along with valuable medical management experience gained in the United States Army. During

These have all taught me lessons that can be applicable in my, or any, career. The Quartermaster position developed organization skills from having to keep meticulous records, and taught me to ensure that everyone has what they need to do what they need to do. The Scribe position was basically the same, but involved putting data into computers and keeping records straight. The Assistant patrol leader taught me leadership skills, from learning under a patrol leader and having to lead the patrol by myself when they weren’t around. The Assistant Senior Patrol Leader position taught me Communication skills, as I had to communicate with the others of my position, the Senior Patrol Leader, and the Patrol Leader I was over. It is important for me to pursue these qualities and morals I have gained and learned from Boy Scouts in my job and I believe that they will help me have a better time as a person, a student, and a co-worker. The Boy Scouts have taken a large portion of my life, and I have learned a lot from
