Caffarella and Daffron (2013) interactive model has laid its roots deep into the art of planning programs for adults. This model has been utilized in almost every high level/corporate program or even in everyday social activities. Its importance and the need cannot be underestimated when it comes to cost cutting, saving time and planning with thorough research and in ethical terms. This project of Women's Leadership in the Military, had required several of Caffarella and Daffron (2013) model structures listed points in order to make their project work. The project has been designed to honor and appreciate all the women taking up leadership roles within the military division. Being a woman and taking up such enormous responsibility is a success and win on it’s own and something that should be highlighted and honored with pride all over the world. While we had to organize and manage such an important and huge event, Caffarella and Daffron (2013) interactive model served as a useful tool for us to work through for a smoother and efficient event. Just like to discuss in their model, every other program requires a certain specific components of the model to be included. If the whole model will be applied or not, if the same order will be used or not, depends on the program that is being organized. Different kinds of programs require different ways in which they will be built and executed. I had been a part of the logistics group in this project and we had to really put our heads together to design and come up with several ideas to make all the computer designing related activities. We should have had a weekly project planning system worked out which would have also saved us from losing a week during the project. In the future though, more should be spoken of military personnel and their accomplishments. From all the hard work we did, we always have mistakes that help us remember what to do better next time. In this case, the venue, time of the event, its marketing should have been more high profile to buzz in more audience. More resources should be added for the next time, but we did cover a lot of ground in this event and it was laid out in detail with focus. The event, indeed, turned out to be more amazing than expected! Reference Caffarella, R. S. & Daffron, S. R. (2013). Planning programs for adult learners: A practical guide (3rd ed.). Keita Powell is a pint-sized powerhouse. She is energetic, result oriented, focused, and driven. Ms. Powell is one of many women in the Mary Kay Cosmetics sales force. She rose through the ranks from Independent Beauty Consultant to Independent Elite Executive Senior Sales Director rather quickly because of her charisma, ability to build a sales team of energetic men and women, and sheer enthusiasm to succeed. One would think that she was an amazing leader to get so many women to follow her in teaching skin care, beauty techniques, increasing and maintaining sells goals and to rise from a very junior consultant to one who is an executive in the business. However, she has made mistakes along the way and continues to feign focus on her sales force and customers but the true focus is on her needs, wants, and desires as well as keeping the use of her free pink Cadillac. This paper will evaluate Ms. Powell's leadership approach through four leadership models discovered through the Unit 3 readings.
For instance, the 4th ABCT deployed for a year-long deployment to Afghanistan, where a battalion was stripped off to work with another division, and two battalions were tasked to conduct security force advisor team (SFAT) missions, which is not their core combat mission and expertise. In addition, while in Theater COL Timmons, the brigade commander, the brigade CSM, and a battalion commander were killed in a convoy explosion, and COL Cutler was suddenly cast into the brigade command position. As soon as they returned from deployment, the 4th ABCT received word that they must conduct a brigade rotation through the National Training Center (NTC) before assuming a new committed period in the sustainable readiness model (SRM) with a regionally aligned force (RAF) mission in Africa. As you can see, due to the perpetual change and a lack of vision there is much uncertainty and stress for the 4th ABCT, in addition to the constant change and tempo that COL Cutler has not effectively managed. There are several change models available to use in leading change and one of the most effective and widely used is the Kotter Model. As I prepare for command, I will utilize the Kotter Model to help lead organizational

This case study demonstrates a young woman leader, Toby Johnson, who used to serve in the military as a pilot and attended Harvard Business School, joined PepsiCo’s Leadership Development Program (LDP), and was working in the management team at the Williamsport plant. She determined to forge ahead, and led the plant to achieve the Level 3 CI and also won the Doolin Award, which the Williamsport plant had never achieved before. The problem that Johnson encounters currently is that if the plant should continue to forge ahead and achieve the ultimate Level 4 CI, which will cost huge amount of money and efforts with the risk of her sudden leave of plant.

“…the selection of a number of women leaders as advisers on the study as a whole and on specific phases… The individual advisers were very helpful in making contacts, in giving advice about special interviews, suggesting institutions and projects and interpreting the general situation.” (viii)
The reading assignment for this unit included reading several articles and one book in particular, The Female Advantage, by Sally Helgesen as an introduction into varying leadership styles. Leadership, as a honed craft is practiced continually in different ways and varying circumstances, no two individuals will have the same leadership style. Certain distinctive traits brought into the forum and on display for followers to observe. Some traits can be visible, clothing or skin color as examples, others, however, are not as visible such as upbringing or family situation. Each of these factors could play a role in the leadership style of a leader. One trait that the author of the book uses to distinguish leaders is gender. As much as men and women must be treated the fairly and equally, it cannot be denied that outside of the biological aspect, men and women are slightly different. Each gender brings a unique approach to leadership situations.
It was late October, as we were adjusting to our new roles; we were given a compelling project called Kids against Hunger. This project required a vast amount of preparation and organization. I began by researching more on the project and learn more information before presenting this project to my officers. Kids Against Hunger provides meal for kids around the world with malnutrition and that are starving. Our goal was to package one quarter of million meals in two days. With my officers, we divide the two days and focus transportation to the fa...
Sir, I am honored by the privilege to once again serve in 4th Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT). Over of the last 30 days, I had an opportunity to reconnect, and reflect on the current state of the Brigade. The 4th ABCT has a rich history of success and glory. It is my goal to put in place the systems and practices for this great organization to exceed all past and present accomplishments. As a result of my assessment, I identified three areas of focus that will improve our organization: a unit vision, a change in organizational culture and climate, and building organizational teams. I have no doubt that with the implementation of these three areas of focus, I will be the transformational leader that 4th ABCT needs as we prepare for the upcoming National Training Center (NTC) rotation and tackle the task of the Regionally Aligned Forces (RAF) mission.

...le. Overall, the author identifies with the overall context of the article which is clearly directed towards pointing out how natural selection has provided women with the rightful capacity to become good leaders. However, this fact should not shun the idea that above women, men were expected to serve as the head of the household. This principle could be applied even in organizations today. Men have the talent to direct, however women tend to become more understanding and more reasonable at times. In this case, the work of men and women in an organization as leaders provide the best source of foundation for a better working system that employees could follow through in relation to how they complete their tasks as expected.
Throughout the process and progress, we have made, I personally felt like my team should have put enough effort communicating as much as I did. I know we all have busy schedules, but at the end of the day, I didn’t want to feel or be stuck trying to figure out strategies for this organization.
Ever since I built my first computer early in 2012, I have had an avid interest in computing and technology. From hardware to software, I enjoy it all. I love everything about building computers, and I mean everything. From making the list of parts, to the Lego-like building process, to the final POST of the motherboard, I enjoy...
Women have qualities that make them more adaptable to the emotional climate, to handling conflicts, to think about the development of people and their human needs, compassion, care of the planet, commitment and responsibility. Who better than a woman who is prepared to deal with responsibilities in leadership positions with unique features to handle such matters. Female leadership is a model to take into account, a model to support and one which we can expect excellent results in a sustainable and equitable manner for all involved. Every day women face the challenge of reentry into the job market, and being the primary caretaker for their children, compounded with diversity issues and concerns. For these reason it is challenging to be a women with power in leadership.
