Professional Standards INTASC Standards: 3, 6 Standard #3: Learning Environments. “The teacher works with others to create environments that support individual and collaborative learning, and that encourage positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self motivation (Henson, 2009).” INTASC Standard #3 articulates the significance of establishing a learning environment to encourage motivation, learning, engagement, and interaction. Therefore, classroom management consisting of rules, norms, and employing effective teaching tactics will be applied. By establishing positive classroom practices for daily tasks and activities, students will value its consistency, and after accepting classroom procedures, the day will progress more efficiently. Nevertheless, it is important for the procedures of what is expected of your students to be defined from the beginning. Additionally, students should experience many opportunities to work with their peers, by providing these instances they will learn how to cooperate with one another improving social interactions.
