Even though I have improved a lot from my initial blind contours and respective studied observations (#1,2,3), my greatest drawing weakness is still knowing where and how to adjust hand pressure, varying density of drawn lines and maintaining smoothness – to breathe life into my drawings. Looking at sketch #1, you can see both drawings (by memory and by observation), have almost uniform line density and discontinuous lines that make the sketch look extremely plain and lose any persuasion. Uniform line quality and these broken lines can also be seen in sketches #2 and #3. The lines in those two sketches are also very uniform and boring. In #2 I spent too little time on any detail and applied too much pressure the entire time, giving a uniformity

In Thomas Eakins’ painting The Biglin Brothers Racing, the lines are being used in the piece by showing them moving in different directions. Even though most of the outlines in the artwork are organic because of the people and landscapes involved, there are different movements of the lines being geometrically shown. One example of this is the two brothers using not only their bodies, but their ores to move their boat around. The ore that is shown more clearly than the other one, has a diagonal direction pointing downward towards the water in order to have the audience believe that the boat is moving. Another example that involves the movement of lines is the movement within the clouds since both geometric and organic lines help the clouds have
2, however, shares this same lack of discernable pattern. If anything, the painting takes the abstraction in Kandinsky’s further. There are no objects in this painting, only paint. With black, white, gray, and yellow paint splattered across the canvas, the viewer’s familiarity with the subject is stripped to even below the blurring of figures. Familiar sights – trees, sky, or people – are completely absent. There are small patches of yellow dotting the figure and thin black lines running down the canvas, but why they are drawn is a mystery known only to the artist. Why does the white paint thin out in some areas while it bubbles in others? Why did Pollock choose yellow instead of a blue? Again, in trying to decipher the meaning, the mind ironically becomes more confused yet more

Eyewitness Error: The justice system depends on eyewitness evidence to convict offenders. Eyewitness is a difficult task to achieve in the justice system. According to Wise, Dauphinais, & Safer (2007), in 2002 one million offenders were convicted as felons in America. Out of those one million offenders, 5000 of them were innocent in 2002 (Dauphinais, 2007).
Naturalistic observation involves recording subjects' naturally occurring behavior while they are in their natural environment. This experiment revolves around this type of observation. Specifically, it involves the observation of the various human dyads (male-female, male-male, female-female,) social interaction, within in a public environment. Focal points of observation included conversation space (distance between individuals heads,), and body language.
If you’re not having fun making your work, no one will have fun looking at it. Life starts at the end of your comfort zone. Paint over a painting when you’re done with it. Educate yourself, read every book about every artist that inspires you. Listen to others, but take time and thought to verify their critique before accepting their advice. Pretend like your 5 years old and make art. Pretend like your 100 years old and make art. As soon as your process becomes a chore, find a way to change that into something you enjoy.
In The Blind Side, Michael experienced an array of challenges, but thanks to the support from his community, he was successfully able to overcome his previous trauma. A major challenge that Michael was exposed to was his community in the projects and poverty. The individuals there were involved in high risk behavior that Michael could have easily used as a coping mechanism. Fortunately, he did not feel like he belonged and did not take part in the activities, such as drinking. He did not have a good relationship with his biological mother, who engaged in substance use, as they have not seen each other in a very long time. This traumatic separation from his family, lead Michael to feel both a physical and emotional abandonment. Throughout
She continues to say, “The sections of pencils present aspects of sharp and smooth for two very different textural and aesthetic experiences. Paradox and surprise are integral in my choice of materials.” Jennifer is saying in so many words that she uses color pencils to show both humbleness and warning at the same time.
The buffy coat layer is the layer where the lymphocytes are located after being added with Ficoll-Paque and centrifuged. It was light colored, milk-y looking, and not very thick. It was tricky to separate that layer from the rest of the blood components using a pipette because it was such a small layer.
As a child I enjoyed roaming museums that encouraged my artistic inclination. I took art classes in my free time and was exhibited in the Brooklyn Museum of Art’s showcase of young artists. Creating art has helped me express my ideas and working in mixed media allows me to recreate used goods. Using plaster, paint and trashed Styrofoam, I casted a piece signifying liberation. Utilizing a broken printer, I integrated the parts to create wearable jewelry. Retrieving discarded telephone cable and candy wrappers I created sculptures that adorn small offices. Recently, I have begun oil painting. Tinting color and shading can be painstaking but has taught me patience and
Once people talk to each other, they usually have eyes contact. From the eye contacts, it tell us we are sharing the information as a feedback. For example, if were talking to the person without sharing the eye contact with him/her, it will consider as a bad behavior. The person that I did not share my eye contact is my teacher. Instead of talking to her directly, I was looking at the table, and she felt like I am ignoring her. It was bad behave from me.
What are the differences between only children and the youngest child of a larger family (ie. Families with four or five children) and are the effects noticeable in adulthood? In most cases, only children and the youngest child are given more than a child in a different position in the Birth Order. The reasons behind the this are very different, the only child is given more because the parents do not have to spread their attention to other children, whereas the youngest receives everything because the parents are tired of fighting once they get to their fourth or fifth child. The other difference between the two group is the most fascinating to see the effects of in adulthood, freedom. Only children have very little freedom, their parents have no other children are able to focus on and often restrict the child’s daily activates. The youngest, on the other hand, has more freedom than they know what to do with. This causes a divide in these group otherwise similar childhood and therefore affects how they will act as adults.

The antecedent for Sam is being told “time to brush your teeth”. This functions of Sam’s desired behavior. When Sam is instructed he will come to the bathroom to brush his teeth. The material Sam needs is his Batman cup, toothbrush, and toothpaste. The setting is Sam’s bathroom and the environment is Sam’s house. One specific step that can be observed and measured is Sam brushing his teeth. His parents/grandparents set the timer for two minutes and are present observing Sam brush his teeth.
