What is heart disease?
Heart disease, also known as coronary heart disease. Is a disorder of the blood vessels of the heart that could eventually lead to a heart attack. Heart attacks occur when one of the arteries become blocked preventing nutrients and oxygen from reaching the heart. What are the symptoms and effects?
Some symptoms include chest pain, shortness of breath, and a pain in your jaw. The heart disease symptoms may different for men and women. Men are more likely to have the chest main, while women are more likely to have shortness of breath. Are there genetic components? If so how do we determine who is at risk?
Hereditary factors play a role in coronary heart disease, that has been know. We can not tell if the increased risk is genetic or if it is the cause of an unhealthy family environment has not yet been established. Professor Kristina …show more content…
