Teaching style is about how materials are delivered, rather than what is delivered. Teachings also refer to the process deliver knowledge and skill from the teacher to the students. It include the activities of educating or instructing. Each person has his or her own teaching style, and aware of their preferences when delivering the instruction. It can be defined as: a set of attitudes and actions that open a formal and informal world of learning to the student. It is a subtle force that influences access to learning and teaching by establishing perimeters around acceptable learning procedures, processes and products. It is the powerful force of the teacher's attitude of the student as well as the instructional activities used by the teacher and it shapes the learning‐teaching experience (Betler, 1984, p. 281).
Teaching styles are divided into three major categories, mainly lecturing, facilitation and demonstrating (refer Figure 1 in Appendix 1).
The first type of teaching style is lecturing. Lecturing is the most commonly used method of teaching in universities. Although the presence of technology offers alternatives to diversify teaching methods, lecturing still prevails. However, lecturing today often fuse technology as part of its method to make lessons interesting. As an advanced technology and a desire to make innovative improvement in the education have occurred in planning and delivery of lecture. Apart from the classroom lecture mode, teachers can deliver lecture through innovative ways such as computer based by using a PowerPoint. As the fastest growing racial or ethnic group in America's public schools, Hispanic students have the unique potential to positively affect the economic and cultural future of the United States. Ensuring the promise of this diverse group of learners requires the attention and commitment of the entire country. We must work harder to close the educational achievement gaps between Hispanic students and the nation as a whole. This must begin with high expectations for achievement, clear goals for what must be accomplished, and specific benchmarks to measure our progress.
The 3rd is activity. Teachers must find activity in which students can engage in expressing their own thoughts, without feeling oppressed into thinking in a way the teachers wish, and apply the activity to real life or in other words “bridge the gap”. The 4th category is communication and this coincides to thoughts, actions, and feelings. Teachers should care more deeply about what their students think, get feedback, and make learning clear, concise, and compelling. The fifth is the law of the heart which also relates to the idea of emotions but gathers the concept of ethos(character-which draws the reader to learn), pathos( having a compassionate atmosphere to ensure motivation for the student), and logos( logic and putting forth that evidence). The 6th category is the law of encouragement which uses intrinsic motivation, comes from one’s own motivation, and extrinsic comes from outside sources. The biggest challenge before a teacher is the presentation of a lesson. If a lesson presentation is effective, students can reach the goals of life by acquisition of knowledge; and if the teacher is unsuccessful in his presentation, it is impossible to achieve the educational objectives. The method of teaching is directly related to the presentation of the lesson. The method of teaching depends on the nature of the subject, and the tact of the teacher. This essay is aimed at assessing teaching methods and strategies used in schools and discuss innovations that should take place to make them more effective and learner centred. When you become a teacher of any subject you use different styles of teachings that reflect you as a teacher and the lesson you are trying to teach. Sometimes it can be difficult to find what styles may work best in different situations. When teaching physical education the most helpful and beneficial styles are indirect, direct, and interactive teaching. These teaching styles are critical when trying to teach physical education because they are proven to be effective. These styles will help make you an effective teacher because of the way they allow you to control and manage the information being taught. When teaching physical education these styles when incorporate to your class make you a more affective teacher. These three styles allow you to accomplish different things in your class room and different types of teaching methods. These styles are important to not only know but to master, so you as a teacher can be effective.
The one belief I had about teaching that has changed since I began this unit, is that all teachers, more or less, taught in the same way. Perhaps this is a belief that I had formed from my own time at school, where all my teachers taught in the same way; some were more or less effective, but I wasn’t aware of them using theories or methods as such, more that they were or weren’t kind people. This belief has changed and it has really opened my ideas to the many creative models, and instructional methods a teacher can use.
Everyone has different learning styles. Learning styles are important because they help you better understand materials in classes. They are there to guide you and become a better student. Learning styles help you better grasp the material and better process it through your brain. When learning you want to do what is most beneficial for you. That is why there is many different learning styles to suit every person. There is three different types of learning styles categorized. The first learning style is auditory. Auditory is meant for individuals that enjoy asking questions, talking and listening, as well as like to read out loud. Visual learners are more interested in charts, graphs, neat surroundings, seeing rather than hearing, and are pictured to be timid as they read to themselves rather than out loud. Finally there is the kinesthetic learning style. Kinesthetic is to touch, to feel, and usually learn by doing.

Thought out our lives, we are faced with many different learning experiences. Some of these experiences have made a better impact than others. This can be attributed to everyone’s different multiple intelligences or learning styles. A persons learning style is the method though which they gain information about their environment. As a teacher, it is our responsibility to know these styles, so we can reach each of our students and use all of the necessary methods.
