This discussion provides information about the causes, diagnosis, and treatments on infertility. Infertility, a condition whereby a couple, unable to conceive despite engaging in twelve months of unprotected sexual intercourse. This medical and social problem affecting both men and women in the developed and developing countries like Singapore, China, and India. “Over the years, infertility has emerged as one of the fastest growing health problems that are of paramount concern. Acupuncture, the popular treatment habitually used among women while undergoing the in vitro fertilization treatment, helps relieve their stress and pain. Countless women confirmed that acupuncture during IVF treatment helped them to cope and improved their resilience throughout their treatment. Even some studies suggest the increased success rates when IVF patients use acupuncture on the day of their embryo transfer. The treatment associates with increasing blood flow to the reproductive organs and possible modulation of the hypothalamus. Infertility patients should be cognizant of the fact that “poor nutrition is one of the causes that can affect women’s fertility (Clinical Roundup).” Those who are underweight, lack certain vitamins or nutrients, had taken any foods that contain pesticides, heavy metals, exogenous hormones, and antibiotics are susceptible in becoming infertile. Some of the easier ways to fix the issue for these type of women to only eat organic produce, meats, and avoid seafood, packaged meals, and eliminate the intake of high fructose corn syrup. The mentality of those outside of America view infertility as shameful especially in the traditional Chinese or Indian cultures where they use women only for procreation.
