Women in todays society are only as good as their looks and wit. Women are treated as objects of affection. Most of advertising are objectifying the image of womens bodies. Women are given this standard to not to strive to be too successful or it would be considered masculine and unattractive. If women were to achieve the success of men it would be displayed as threatening to other small minds. For example, the pay gap, or the inequality of pay due to gender. The pay gap affects women of all groups , socially, and economically. Women who worked fulltime in the United States are usually paid 79 percent less of what a man would make. So if a hetero- white male earn a salary of $40,000 a woman will only bring $31,600 which is 79 percent less. …show more content…

Yes! Equal pay should be an human right not a gender right. As you can see the pay gap can criple the finacial future of all women. Men occupy most of the Forbes list for hights paid CEOs . Its suprising that the Frobes did not list any female CEOs, and none were even on the most influental list. Sexism in the workplace, is another form of discrimination. Women have a difficult time gaining an high- paying positions that are controled by men. All women have faced some form of unwanted compliments, stares, and sterotypes in the workplace. The misogynistic sterotypes, for examlpe: “ Women don't need more money because they are not the head-of-the house”, “Women can not do the same job as a man”, “ Women are too emotional to be in charge of a company”. These old fashioned, Mad Men veiws are destroying the opprotunities women work hard for. Women as face more safety risks at work than men. Sexual harassment and sexual assualt arfe some factors to consider in the workforce.
