If a lazy employee is not helping customers, they should be paid less than someone who is working to help customers.Also people can’t assume that they will be paid as much as a manager if they just started working a job. The skills learned while working at a fast food restaurant are not always from what you are directly taught on the job. In the article “The Fast-Food Factories: McJobs are Bad for Kids,” the author, Amitai Etzioni, explains how fast food jobs hinder learning and the participation of students in school. Etzioni claims that while a fast food job provides income, it does not provide knowledge or skills that would be learn from other jobs such as carpenting, as well as stating that jobs like these dampen creativity. While I agree with some of the author's statements, such as students having a hard time balancing work and school, the author also makes claims that are not correct.

For many years in United States, equal salary pay for women has been a major issue that women have been fighting for decades. This began back in World War II, when the National Labor Board urged equalize the salary rates for women with the same rates that males were getting of the same professions. (Rowen) Although, traditionally most women do not work to provide for there family and there are not so many independent women during World War II. Women without a doubt do deserve equal pay. The gender pay gap may only last for a couple more years or maybe the wage gap may always exist. However that doesn’t make it right. Women go through their daily lives hearing the many excuses society throws at them. Men matter more, they need the money more, their more qualified, and so on. Nevertheless, none of that is true; women have proved to be independent hard working females who are depended on just as much as men. They have the same responsibilities to uphold and are just as qualified to perform at a man’s level. This wage gap has gone on for long enough and it is a women right as a citizen to be looked upon as an equal. Every women matters, every dollar matters, the wage gap matters.
Because of this, many employees tend to leave when they have found a job with higher pay. This increases the training costs for their employees, as they tend to not stay for too long.
In conclusion I think that people should not look at fast food jobs as a bad job. They should look at all the employees that have once worked at a fast food place and see how they have turned out. If many went around and asked people they know if they have ever had a fast food job, they would be surprised how many have worked there. Those jobs teach many people how to adapt to the outside world. They don't shelter you from anything. You are able to gain valuable job experience that will look good on future resumes and learn basic life skills.
Stereotypical fast food workers are teenagers, because most workers at fast food restaurants, especially McDonald’s, are teens. For instance, “Teenagers open the fast-food outlets in the morning, close them at night, and keep them going in between,” (Schlosser and Wilson 60). Most teens work in fast-food, and since they don’t need the money as much as adults, they can be worked hard to see how life is like in the real world in a real job, and not entirely need the money.
