In this age of technology, art is fundamentally essential for our society. Art brings beauty and creativity into the society. It is very important because it makes our society a better place. Art brings a sense of enjoyment and pleasure. Art allows for the expression of truth and beliefs. It portrays various ideas, feelings such as triumph, love, happiness, sorrow and boredom. Each and every message behind art shows ideas that are relevant to the society. The society can only be complete when there is a good balance between mechanical human capital and artistically inclined human capital. Firstly, it enhances students creativity by allowing them to make a self-expression. In most art programms, students are asked to create a painting that represents memory or compose a new rhythm for a piece of music. When students are taught to think creatively, it helps them in their future career. Secondly, the arts improve academic performance, students who are regularly participate in the arts does better in their academic achievement. Thirdly, it develops the students fine motor skills when they hold an instrument such as a paintbrush or oil pastel. Fourthly, while mastering a subject, students build self-confidence. Fifthly, the arts help students to develop their visual-spatial skills. Students need to know more about their sorroundings through visual than just what they can learn through text and numbers. Art education teaches students to appreciate, criticize or interpret by using the visual information. Sixthly, the arts strengthens problem solving and critical thinking skills by allowing the students to make choices and decisions. This is certainly allows them to carry over into their education and other parts of life—as this is surely a valuable skill in their adulthood. Seventhly, perseverance whereby the students will be asked to develop new skills and work through difficult projects during the career. In schools, art educators need to instill the desire to pursue the arts (visual arts and performing arts) through a continued inspiration and encouragement where each student needs to be assessed individually. It is essential to instill passion and love for artistic activities among the students so that we can generate more creative adults in this country. The arst certainly helps students to have develop various creative ideas. The arts education in this country has undergone an immense transformation in the school system, be it elementary, secondary or tertiary level, it has become less popular these days, unlike the sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM EDUCATION). Over the past several years, I have seen the trend of schools not giving importance to the arts—visual arts and performing arts, gone for so many. Hence, The Ministry of Education need to create a scope to make the arts education more important, diverse and dynamic, provided it is implemented with a true spirit within the school curriculum. Schools should have aesthetically pleasing art and music studios for the students to have access to art materials or music instruments for them to experiment and explore.
