Importance Of Lesson Plan

Before I get started to read the chapters and watch the video that you asked us to watch I noticed that we would be discussing lesson plans, so I started to think of the importance of lesson plans. It is true that I did not teach before in real classroom, but as I student I could know if the teacher prepared well for the class or not. First, I think as a teacher before I started to teach my first class in my career I have to ask myself three question. The questions that every teacher has to ask himself or herself are why I want to teach, what I am going to teach and how I would teach. By asking myself why I am teaching, I will know the massage that teaching created for. In addition, it is important of teachers to cover the recommended resources

Therefore, preparing to do lesson plan is the essential factor of the successful classroom. I do not have an experience in teaching at all, but I believe that preparing for the lessons is the most important way that leads the class to be successful. Planning a lesson will help teachers to be organized and will not make their teaching go randomly. In addition, I believe that planning a lesson does not mean that teachers should write how they are going to teach and that sit. In my opinion, mental preparation is the first step in planning a new lesson plan. Thus, I think that teachers have to know their students well, and then they have to think deeply how this lesson can be taught. Knowing students is not easy task but it will help us in knowing how we would teach this lesson. Teaching any lesson either is Math or Social Studies or English have to have good lesson plan. Therefore, I know that planning a lesson in the first step to have successful class. However, I have never seen an ESL teacher planning his lesson in my country because in my city English is not important enough. Thus, I decided to come here in order to improve myself and then improve my future students in learning the most important language, which is

SIOP model will guaranty a successful lesson plan. Additionally, it will help teachers to collaborate between each other. Apart of that, after reading the preparation component features, I realized that teaching ESL is different of teaching native students. Language objectives should be considered in teaching ESL students. However, the other five features are more likely in every lesson plan not only in ESL lesson plans. In addition, I realized that all SIOP lesson have to have objectives that helps ESL to improve their academic language. Not only that, but also, academic vocabulary should be considered too in teaching those students. Anyway, I think the six features are important to be included in every lesson plan especially meaningful activities and the supplementary materials. I think that activities is the most appropriate way to teach students with because they will be able to learn without feeling boring. In addition, I think that activities will enhancing the relationship between the teacher and their students and the students with themselves. On the other hand, supplementary materials will help teachers in improving their student 's academic language. Also, it will reach the general knowledge of the students.

In short, these two chapters give many successful lesson plans that according to the SIOP protocol.
