The road is the place that transports everyone to and from where they need to be. It is full of all different types of cars: blue cars, red cars, huge SUVs, semi-trucks, little cars, etc. Along with the various types of cars comes various types of drivers. Different types of drivers are what make or break one’s traveling experience. A driver is bound to cross paths with at least one of these types of drivers while on the road. The three most annoying, and potentially dangerous types of drivers are the distracted drivers, grandma drivers, and traffic weavers. Common traits of a distracted driver include texting, calling, Snapchatting, emailing, doing their makeup and the worst of all, Facetiming all while driving. A distracted driver may be found admitting to their bad habit, but defending it with how they are a skilled multitasker. This style of driving causes harm to the driver themselves, their passengers, and anyone else remotely close to their vehicle while it is in movement. Driving carefully is the last thing on these type of people’s minds. Somehow, the distracted drivers forget that focusing their attention away from the road compromises the safety of others. Distracted driving is the leading cause of collisions on the roads today. For instance, a good friend of mine, Meghan, was recently involved in a car accident due to distracted driving. On her way home from picking her little brother up from soccer practice, she was rear-ended by a woman going approximately 60 mph. Meghan had hit dead stop traffic on the highway, and the woman behind her must not have noticed due to some other type of distraction, which caused her to slam into the back of Meghan’s Jeep Liberty.
