“If you present your dog to a veterinarian with the instruction to put him to sleep, you would normally mean something very different than you would upon taking your wife or husband to an anesthesiologist with the same words.” – Raymond Moody. A veterinarian is a person who is trained to give medical care and treatment to animals: an animal doctor in other words. I want to be a vet because I love being around animals, people (minus the talking), and overall enjoy helping people. dress wounds, perform surgery on animals, operate medical equipment, prescribe medication, inform owners on general care, medical conditions, and treatments. They do this to keep animals alive and healthy. To me this means that they are basically like a regular doctor, but instead they have to find out what’s wrong without the patient telling them what it is. Not only that but they are animals, not human beings. To get this job, you need to have an entry-level of education.

There happen to be many advantages of being a vet. One of the three are you get to help the animals. This also leads to another advantage, the owners will be relieved to know their pets are healthy again, and or up to date on shots. The third and final reason is the money you can earn hourly, yearly, and bi-weekly.
As for disadvantages, there are a few. Like having to clean up their vomit. Another is that you have to do deal with the owners, it’s even worse when you’re socially awkward and shy (which sucks because I am). The worst one would probably be that you have euthanize the animals. In my opinion, I don’t necessarily like these but I still want to be a
veterinarian. In conclusion, I think this job is fairly nice. It definitely isn’t for everyone though. If you like animals, enjoy being around others, and love to help people this would be a good job for you.

While other kids were outside having fun at the playground, I was at the library reading books and learning about the different animals. However, as I matured, I realized that being a veterinarian isn’t just about caring for and assisting injured animals. I chose veterinary technician because I think it will suite me best; moreover later in life I can always go back to school to be a veterinarian whether then get the degree and not use it. I think veterinary technicians have important roles because the doctor will always need assistance with an animal and I would like to be on the side where I will not have to give shots or put them to sleep. Watching an animal get put to sleep is the hardest thing anyone could ever have to see or deal with. I can not be the one to put an animal to sleep it would hurt me to much no matter how much the job needed to be done. Working at the vet as a senior I have seen many gruesome things that veterinarians have to do; however the worse I have seen is the rabies observations. A rabies observation is for an animal that bit someone and depending on how bad the bite is depends on what route they choose to take. This animal had bitten someone pretty bad so they chose the route of putting it to sleep and they doctor had to cut the head off. After the animal 's head was off they stored it in the refrigerator and the next morning was sent of to a laboratory for testing on the neurological part of the brain; moreover it was the worst experience I have had while working at a veterinary clinic. That day I thought to myself I
The greatest advantage is saving lives. Julie says there is no greater feeling than this. You give an animal a second shot and when the owner has lost all hope, telling them their pet will be ok and seeing their reaction really makes you feel good inside. You do things that matter and make great impacts on people’s lives by helping and saving their pets. A pet is a part of your family, to lose a pet feels like losing a family member. There are also disadvantages to this job. These include being bitten, you get bodily fluids all over you, and you have to deal with angry clients who can’t afford their pet’s medical costs so sometimes people surrender their animals to the pet hospital. Having animals come in who have been abused or seeing animals that have traumatic injuries is terrifying because you don’t know if you can help them and if an animal is abused, they could go back to their home to get abused again. The worst disadvantage which I had mentioned before is euthanizing an animal, it is truly
