On the first Introduction to human communication class, I was assigned the assignment “I Dare You” by our lecturer, Ms. Malissa. When I heard about the assignment I literally have no idea what’s the purpose of the assignment and don’t really feel like doing it. After hearing the explanation about what the assignment is about from Ms. Malissa, I understood that it is actually a social experiment about how your first impression or perception of a certain may not always be right.
To be honest, I don’t really make major perception or first impression about someone that doesn’t really matters to me or someone that I rarely cross path with. I always judge people based on their physical appearance and the way they dress. Since I’m into sneakers so I’ll always look at their sneaker and

We do hang out as a group during lunch since we have mutual friends but we rarely talk to each other during lunch. Later some time I heard from a friend that she learns muay thai which makes her even more interesting. On April 5th she asked me out on a date. My dream came true. She finally talked me and I even get to go on a date with her.
On April 8th 2016, we went on our first official date. Since neither of us drove to school so we decide to choose the next best option which is to go to Sunway pyramid. Since we only have human communication from 8:30-10:30am on that day. So we can take our time instead of having to rush for classes from pyramid. We met up at the uni foyer after class and walked to Sunway pyramid together using the canopy walk. On the way to Sunway pyramid we did talk but it was mostly all yes/no question, in my opinion the walk to the canopy walk was super awkward since we didn’t know what to say to each
According to Muller, Prowse, and Soper (2012) the procedures to remove and replace a power supply are;
When an individual unintentionally enters a room full of an unfamiliar crowd, he or she is bound to be embarrassed, but also have an apprehensive sensation of how others in that room will distinguish them. A situation like that establishes a moment in which that person realizes that all eyes are gaping at that individual. Just when that person could consider forgetting what just happened, unfortunately judgments start circulating among the unfamiliar crowd. As most people know, judgments are based off of a person’s appearance, race, religion, or a quality that doesn’t appeal to the person analyzing them. Obviously, judging is something that takes place whether someone likes it or not, but there are certain limits to it that many cross by adding
One of the main reasons this research was conducted was to understand how multitasking on your computer during class affects the student and his/her peers around them. This research is very topical, considering that technology is becoming extremely prevalent in our everyday tasks. The results of this study provided that multitasking does have consequences on the student and their peers (Sana. F., Weston, T., & Cepeda, N. J., 2013). To begin with, the study proved that learning and understanding declined when multitasking was introduced (Sana, et. al., 2013). Another thing Sana, Weston, and Cepeda (2013) found was that comprehending the material presented during lecture was also disrupted when students were sitting near another student who was multitasking.
This critical review will look at the skill of administering antipsychotic depot intramuscular injections. This skill was practised while I was on my psychiatric placement in a community setting. The setting will not be named for confidentiality reasons as set out by An Bord Altranais. According to An Bord Altranais (2008), under no circumstances may a student nurse disclose a health care facility’s identity in an assignment. Clinics were run twice a week in this particular community setting for patients with mental health problems such as schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder to receive their depot intramuscular injections. This skill was chosen as the author was practising administering intramuscular injections almost on a daily basis but there is confusion around what is the best practice for administering depot intramuscular injections in the mental health setting.
For example, working in a surgical ward, a nurse was discussing with other colleagues about a certain patient who was in the holding bay, talking negatively about her lifestyle choices, when approaching the patient for the first time when arriving into the suite, she refused treatment from any of the nurse staff on the shift as she was upset at the things the nurse had said. First impressions influence people’s judgments of others and their willingness to engage in any further communication (Boc and Franklin, 2013).... ... middle of paper ... ...
what to say. 2/6-2/9 I tried to avoid any situation that I thought I could feel awkward
First impressions are created by a composite of signals given off by a new experience (Flora, 2004). The judgment of these impressions depends on the observer and the person being observed (Flora, 2004). When you meet someone for the first time it takes about three seconds to be evaluated by the observer (Mind Tools, 1996-2011,). During this time the person forms an opinion about you based on your appearance, your body language, your demeanor, and how you dress (Mind Tools, 2996-2011,). Impressions are important to us because they are impossible to be reserved and the set the tone for all the relationships that follow (Mind Tools, 1996-2011).
What's on your feet? Is it Nike, Adidas, or Jordan? Well those are just some of the popular sneakers most people wear, either to play sports, go to the gym, or casually wear them on a date, but would you ever buy a sneaker just for collection purposes? For some people, collecting sneakers is a full time hobby and job especially if it's shoes by Michael Jordan, who is arguably the best athlete to ever play basketball in the NBA. With six NBA championship wins with The Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan has made a name for himself. With one sneaker to another being a part of Michael Jordan’s career highlight, fans from all ages were drawn more and more to these sneakers. The “Jordan” brand has become a huge success in the sneaker industry, so
...sequent Parliament will be bound by the manner and form. In Attorney-General for New South Wales v Trethowan it was held that since the Colonial Laws Validity Act 1865 specifdied certain manner and form the later Parliament was bound by this. Similarly in Harris v Minister of the Interior court held that the South African Parliament had been created and given its powers by the 1909 Act and later Acts which tried make changes without following the correct procedure was invalid. The modern attitude of courts is changing as could be seen in R. (on the application of Jackson) v Attorney-General concerning the Hunting Act 2004, where Lord Hope of Craighead said Parliamentary sovereignty is no longer, if it ever was, absolute, instead its qualified.” Its enforcement by the courts is the ultimate controlling factor on which our constitution is based.”

How first impressions are formed has been a subject of interest by many researchers in the area of psychology.

We sat side by side for sometime until we acknowledge the other's presence with quick glances. Finally I decided I was the one who had to take the first step.
