The Speech Thank you, Emily, I would also like to thank, The Governors, Teachers, Pupils, Parents, Mum, Dad, Rabonim, Specifically Rabbi Pereira… Being the first class of your teaching career, I’m surprised we did not put you off for life. If you survived our class, the rest, is plain sailing, and of course our guest of honor tonight, Naomi Ellenbogen. As a token of our appreciation for being here tonight we would like to present you with this gift. I have been on a remarkable journey throughout my time at King David, of which the experiences have been fueled by the motivation and total dedication of both the teachers and the governors. We all lose our way occasionally, but we are lucky enough to have guidance from supportive teachers and parents to put us back on track. On countless occasions and in many situations, we are all told to 'step up'. Whether as an adult or for us as pupils still in education. The term 'stepping up' simply means; to do better, and because this seems so simple we sometimes forget. Today, we are all aiming to 'step up' and make a change. But what does this really mean? During my 16 years at King David, I have been told to step up many times, King David has taught me to build up the courage and exceed expectations by making the right choices and achieving... Otherwise I wouldn't be stood here today. For me it doesn't stop here but I know that the qualities and skills that have got me this far, which were nurtured here at King David since the age of 2 will help me fulfil my potential. In my opinion, we are each brought into this world for a different purpose with a different potential, in my opinion the underlying reason for our existence is to make change for not just ourselves, but for others in a positive
