On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, I attended a musical concert. This was the first time I had ever been to a concert and did not play. The concert was not what I expected. I assumed I was going to a symphony that featured a soloist clarinet; however, upon arrival I quickly realized that my previous assumptions were false. My experience was sort of a rollercoaster. One minute I was down and almost asleep; next I was laughing; then I was up and intrigued.
I have met the goals outlined because of my continuous diligence and exceptional performance throughout the year. I have, in my humble opinion, exceeded the substantial qualifications for teaching, service and research as set forth by my Faculty Assignment Document. I am pleased to be part of the West Virginia University Extension Service and was honored to receive the 2013 WVSE4-HA and NAE4-HA North East awards for Urban Programming for an individual. As 2013 comes to a close, I am proud of my excellent accomplishments and quality contributions to 4-H and look forward to creating additional programming for youth in West Virginia.
The two concerts that I chose to go see were Stanislaus State Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensembles & Combos Concert. These two concerts are both very similar yet different in their own ways. Each piece also has many attributes to contribute and it was fun being able to watch two very different genres.
The event I attended was “An Evening of Jazz” concert held at the Fine Arts Hall on November 17 at 7:30 p.m. The performing groups were The Santa Fe Rhythm and Blues Review, The Santa Fe Jazz Combo, and Santa Fe Big Band. The event was to for me to understand, experience Jazz music and know the instruments used.
I would like to begin this evening by welcoming all of my classmates, staff, parents and guardians, the school board and superintendent, friends, and relatives to the commencement of the class of 2012.
I attended a music concert at Glendale Community College Auditorium. The concert took place at 12:30 PM on May 1st, 2014, and I went to the affair with my friend who is also interested in music. Upon my arrival I would realize that the show was not going to be anything fancy, as it would be a free event that is open to the general public. The stage would change throughout each part of the performance, with the same setup of having the performers on stage. The auditorium was packed with students and their family members, also other people who dressed casually for the show. I met the microbiology lab assistance who sat next to me. It was interesting for me that she was also interested in music. The performers were all faculty members who were performing a faculty recital. The show consisted of only a handful of different performers, and minimal use of instruments. I quickly noticed that the pieces were not going to sound as good as they should because there weren’t enough instruments to perform in the way that it should be. However, the show was still enjoyable, considering that it was a free performance by faculty members of GCC.
Another successful festival flies by in a whirlwind. We hope you had a wonderful time as we laughed, cried, and came together as an arts community.
On Wednesday, May 23rd, I attended the College Choir concert in the Reamer Campus Center. The choir performed a variety of songs, ranging from pieces in Latin to traditional American folksongs. Two of the pieces featured solos, and one even featured percussion instruments. Mrs. Elinore Farnum provided piano accompaniment for each of the songs, and performed beautifully. I was extremely impressed by the talented choir members and their ability to sing such a varied range of songs.
Jazz is a music genre that is very rich in culture which is why I decided to attend a Jazz concert. This was my first Jazz event I had ever been to. I went to see the band The Chairman and the Board. This was a blues swing band. Having been to other concerts, I was expecting something similar as far as atmosphere and crowd. I was proved very wrong as this concert defied all my expectations and was in a whole different field as far as life entertainment goes. The first thing I noticed right off the bat was the audience. The age range of this audience was mainly 40-70. I definitely felt like the odd man out when I was there. It did get me thinking though, why was this audience so much older? I looked into the era of when most of those people
First, address a cordial greeting to the authorities that are here today representing the Government and Parliament. In addition, this year I greet and thank all those who helped make this ceremony with their work and their participation. A special greeting to the true protagonists of the event: the people here, those who follow us from afar. Greetings to all schools, with special affection and trust that teachers are the main walls of our school, and to technical non-teaching staff. And with a salute to pupils' families whose participation in educational children and grandchildren is essential.
BHS would like to invite you our Winter Student Congress. We hope that you will be able to attend one of the first congresses of the school year.
The meeting began when the school board members entered the large group instruction room and took their seats at a panel table angled to the side of the audience. The school board consists of nine elected members from the community. The members are as follows: Paul Ridley (President), Pat Vigliotta (Vice President), Helen Cumminskey (Secretary), Carla Manion ( Asst. Secretary), Timothy Bean (Treasurer), David Feely (Board Member), Keith Hatch (Board Member), Shane Oschman (Board Member), and Joseph Troutman (Board Member). Three members of the board were missing; however because of where the seats were located I could not see who was missing. Also, the member did not introduce themselves and left before people could address them.
The enjoyment of a concert is often not found as a black or white absolute, but as an area on a spectrum. I haven't been to many concerts in my life so when I had the opportunity to go to a music festival with my cousin in America of all places; it could be said that I was thrilled at the prospect. In my excitement I conjured up a specific image of the event in my mind: sunny skies, people dancing, good music and a wholesome environment of human interaction. As it turns out, my expectations were far from reality…
Now, I know why they did that. Like some courses I have taken such as Anatomy, Organic Chemistry that required students to take lab courses in order to provide students opportunities to practice, observe, and explore problems through exposing to the reality, attending to music concert brings students a chance to approach classical music. Therefore, concerts helps students widen their knowledge at school. Hillsborough Community College’s music concert is worth seeing. In the future, I will bring my family to other concerts that Hillsborough Community College
