First, address a cordial greeting to the authorities that are here today representing the Government and Parliament. In addition, this year I greet and thank all those who helped make this ceremony with their work and their participation. A special greeting to the true protagonists of the event: the people here, those who follow us from afar. Greetings to all schools, with special affection and trust that teachers are the main walls of our school, and to technical non-teaching staff. And with a salute to pupils' families whose participation in educational children and grandchildren is essential.
On this occasion, I remember and thank other people who work for a good school. Those in the Ministry of Education, in the regional education offices, departments in the regions, provinces and municipalities run the complex machinery of education, often aided by private social workers, scholars from university departments and research centers. In this multifaceted institutions and structures operating at all levels are committed people, creative, able to identify problems and propose solutions in new and socially useful. The weavers our thanks go silent, and go the right support and recognition.
This year their education have spotlight. The economic crisis we are experiencing has aroused heated discussions about the best strategies for overcoming it. During the late 1800's Italy became one of the most overcrowded countries in Europe. Many Italians began to consider the possibility of leaving Italy to escape the new low wages and high taxes. There’s a lot more to being Italian than the typical stereotypes that we have come to know from movies, television and books. From the Catholic mobsters who kill during the week but always make it to mass on Sunday, to the “how you doin” views of Joey from the television show “Friends”, people often forget the more important parts of being Italian. It is a culture like no other, full of history, art, and most importantly, their passion for food. Italian food, in my opinion, is the best in the world. Italians put so much into everything they make that the time and effort is tasted with every single bite. One of my favorite dishes would have to be fettuccini alfredo and it just happens to be a fairly easy, but extremely delicious, dish to make. Trust me, if I can make it, you can make it.

Italian culture and influences on world economies can be seen everywhere from food to cars and clothes. The impact that Italy has had on the rest of the world is profound than you may think.
Giuseppe Mazzini, often called “the beating heart of Italy” was the son of a doctor from Genoa in northern Italy. Early on he joined the occasionally violent Italian secret society, the Carbonari, where he developed his political aptitude. The Carbonari was instrumental in creating tensione in certain areas to spark a revolution. However soon it was exposed that Mazzini was affiliated with them, and so he was forced to flee to France. Good evening parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and friends. I would like to thank you all for coming to this very special day. I know how proud you must be. As we have grown over the years, there are many stages we all have gone through. From learning our shapes and colors, to getting our first kiss in middle school, or how about explaining to our parents why we skipped school because the principal called home. As we remember these days, things that we've done will be with us forever. But this is only the start of our journey. The day has come where we say goodbye to the big yellow buses, assemblies, assigned seating, and attendance policies. Are you really gonna miss it? For some of us maybe not right away. But eventually we will so for us to be here it is not necessarily an achievement, but a privilege. All of us have been in school over half our lives. To graduate is one more step we've taken in our lives.
Let me begin by saying that I am very honored to be addressing the County High School Class of 2012 as students of this institution for the last time. We've spent these last four years creating some serious memories: four years of chieftain power, leaking roofs, questionable Homecoming skits, and musical principals. Four years of good teachers, bad teachers, new teachers, old teachers. Four years of youth, music, growing up and breaking free. Sigauke (2013) described how in some nations citizenship education is taught school-wide in all subjects and school activities, but this approach is the exception rather than the rule (p. 11).
