I am exceptionally grateful for this opportunity to possibly be a member of this very prestigious organization. Every day I work tremendously hard to be noticed by both other scholars and my teachers. Now that an opportunity has come, I am truly excited to demonstrate and live by the values of The National Junior Honors Society. I hope to further expose and show both my dedication and want to join arms with my community and my peers and I wish to continue to work with passion and fire to shape the world into a brighter place.
For years now it’s been my dream to attend Melbourne High School. My two cousins have attended the school in the past five years and I’ve heard how enriching being part of the MHS community can be. They have both become excellent role models for me and now I wish to experience being part of the school’s tradition for myself.
I was very excited when I heard that I had been invited into National Junior Honors Society. The first time I heard of NJHS, it instantly became a goal of mine. When my older sister left for college I was very sad, so I think that this is a way for me to keep a part of her. I have always been that little girl no one understood, because I’m always very excited to learn and get back to school after summer break. I’m very happy to see that I’ve been invited, but this is why I should be accepted.
National Junior Honor Society as a nation premier organization started to recognize outstanding middle-level students. NJHS is a way to honor students who have demonstrated an extraordinary amount of excellence in the areas of the five pillars which are, scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. This organization that was started in 1929 is a great opportunity for me to show my family and teachers how hard I work to get this far. I am deeply honored to be among the exemplary student who are being considered for this program. This organization the so many great things in society, and knowing that I could potentially be a part of it and play a part in futuring the impression that the organization has already made. I am a determined student, and will do anything to do my absolute best even when something hard is thrown my way. I have always hoped to be a part of something big like National Junior Honor Society, and I hope that this will be my chance to be a part of something big. In my essay I have provided several reasons why you should consider me being on National Junior Honors Society.
It is with great honor to be considered among the students of my class to be a part of the National Honor Society. the National Honor Society (NHS) has been an organization that has displayed great interest to me, with new leadership skills and responsibilities to take upon. I believe that I hold the leadership skills, service, character, and academic excellence that is required to become a member of the National Honor Society.
As I went through the research process for this paper I conducted many interviews with former classmates who are now either attending a four-year university or a local community college. The original intent was to find out their reasons for attending the institution they chose to attend. As I accumulated information I began to see a glaring trend in the relationship between the social group the individual was a member of and the college they ended up attending. This then drove me to further examine the influencing factors in these students’ social lives, in a hope of identifying the degree to which they are influenced by each other. Thus, the first part of the paper explores the community colleges of the surrounding area and the programs that they have to offer to students. Meanwhile, the second part of the paper is more of a sociological investigation into peer groups and the factors that lead kids into choosing their institution of higher education. I chose to focus on the institution that is the community college due to the fact that a large number of my former classmates are enrolled in community colleges.
The ancient words of Socrates have laid the foundation for many modern-day ideals, laws, and forms of government. However, though he has many wise words to offer, there appear to be fundamental inconsistencies between some of his discussions and allegories. The words of Socrates in the Symposium and Republic were written by his mentee, Plato, who uses Socrates’ persona to reflect his own thoughts (though, not necessarily all of his proper beliefs). Therefore, the apparent inconsistencies between Plato’s works may be reconciled when the disposition of Socrates in these texts is considered: he is a character. Socrates and other characters are purely vehicles of Plato’s thought-provoking persuasion. In the Symposium, the interlocutors give praise to everything good about desire; the nature and purpose of love (eros) is explored and, in the end, a broader concept of desire is reached. In the Republic, however, justice (dikaiosune) and reason are the main objectives while desire appears to be something that should be suppressed in a just man. Both dialogues aim to discover the nature of these concepts, their link to Virtue, and man’s relationship to the good and the beautiful. I will argue that the attitudes of these characters may seem to vary between dialogues, but the overall message of the pieces remains consistent and, moreover, that they supplement one another.
Instead of teaching us how to do projects and essays, how to use the quadratic formula, how to understand the concept of war, teach us instead the art of persuasion. Teach us the ways of entertaining an audience, the dilemmas that the world faces. Teach us that there are an enormous amount of issues in the world and they come with an abundant amount of solutions. To learn how to engage an audience is to learn how to teach one.
You’ve heard the advice before “get involved, join a club”, at the University of Montana (UM) we are a very large commuter college, involvement is a good way to develop relationships with other students and to create a sense of community for yourself and others.
Student participation in the annual Business Society Haunted House is essential for the future of this great event. Penn State DuBois has nearly one thousand students attending classes, but on average only fifteen students volunteer their time each night over the five-day period. This presents a problem for the Business Society. If student participation continues to decrease, this event will only be a memory.
Last year, Right before winter break there were 3 snow days. On those 3 snow days It was below freezing. A pond behind my house started to freeze on the first day. On Monday, April 17, the student activity council of Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute held a car wash at the school’s carpark. Teachers and students planned this event for over 2 weeks to raise money for their school to have better equipment for the gym facility and to have a better study-environment. Friends, family, neighbors, and the community came out of their home to support them on a holiday. Mr. Sigalas, Mr. Ming, and Ms. Yeung are the teachers who helped the students made the event happen. Ryan and Vincent are the leaders of the student activity council of the school. Both teachers and students worked really hard on that day to raise as much money they could for their school. “We’ve successfully collected more than C$1,200 for
To what extent did the reforms of the Constituent Assembly create discontent? The National Constituent Assembly solved some of France's short term problems, but caused significant discontent due to its inability to resolve long term problems, that had been destroying France economically, politically and socially. There were some groups of society that were quite content with the reforms of the Constituent Assembly, such as a majority of the bourgeoisie, peasants who gained from the abolition of the Feudal system, and some members of the first and second Estate. However, many other people and groups, such as King Louis XVI, Nobles who had become emigres after losing their land, clergy who had refused to swear allegiance to the new state, loyal Catholics, the Sans Culottes and a rapidly growing republican movement, that were unhappy with the Constituent Assembly.
You have decided on a location, and now it is time to make a list of the people who will be attending. Make a list of everyone you want to attend and do not forget their family members who may come with them. You may want to allow everyone to bring a friend if they are single, or you suspect they will come alone. Fill out your invitations and get them in the mail at least two weeks before your event. Now you are ready to get down to the details of the part...

Winter break is always almost something almost everyone looks forward to sleeping in and being with their family around the fire, don't get me wrong, I certainly do too, but, sometimes your idea of Winter break doesn't always go as planned. The start of break seemed like it would be a normal old break until I want some good old cake pops. Cake pops are delicious don’t get me wrong, but, somehow drama at my house can come from the least things.
