Food perhaps is the foremost of necessities to sustain life, but good food is the soul of life. Right from savages, man has constantly endeavored to make food more & more palatable, interesting and health friendly. The presentation, taste and novel ways of service form an integral part of hospitality world, which may vary in time but preserve the warmth of yester years.
The ability to imagine & conceive is one of the most endearing characteristics of being human. Desiring a better world, a better community and a better self gives me a sense of resolute but creating better food, offering dedicated service and bringing a grateful smile for the society gives me a purpose in life. It is with this yearning that I seek to embark on a carrier in

I always appreciated the food and the creator. Gradually, I realized that the taste of being appreciated & thanked by someone for making them smile after serving good food & care is much more satisfying. I realized this smile was very familiar which I always saw on the faces of my mom and grandmother after serving us with delicious food during my childhood. This was the start of my interest in culinary arts. I was a keen learner in our home kitchen as well as where ever we visited. I watched each and every chef, trained or untrained during my family visits to various eateries as a youngster. The exposure was unlimited due to our frequent sojourns abroad to world class facilities with my father who happened to be a medical doctor with an international airline. The seeds of this initial interest took shape when I joined institute of hotel management and catering technology. That was the beginning but I never knew that it will take the shape of my passion for life. Now I wish to spend my life creating a super place for people to escape and to feel special. I had never thought about the fascination and the opportunities which this industry offers until
As a human service professional my own philosophy of life, your personal values, and your vision for the future of the world, and your values in relationships will inevitably impact on the decisions I make, and how I will react when they are questioned by clients, other professionals or conflict with the policies, procedures and laws I will work under. The important role ethics holds in providing a guideline for best practice and ethical decision making, in protecting both the counsellor and the client, and providing professional legitimacy (O’Connor, Wilson, and Setterlund, 2003, p.224). I will explore my personal values, and how congruent they are with the core values of social work and human services. By doing this regularly as a human services professional, I am better equipped at dealing with clashes between my values and the values of clients, other professionals and agencies, and managing the challenge of not imposing my personal values on others and when advocating for social justice.
The clear understanding of both the role of the Human Services Worker and the role of the client in treatment.
I have known that I wanted to go into the field of Social Work since my first year of undergraduate studies at SUNY at Fredonia. I entered SUNY at Fredonia as a major in secondary education, with a concentration in English. It was during my first semester of my freshman year that I had taken an introductory course in psychology. I realized then that I wanted to work with people, but not in the capacity as a secondary education teacher, but in a career in mental health. My professor spoke with such enthusiasm about the subject of psychology and psychopathology and soon, I found myself intrigued with these subjects. I wanted to help individuals who needed the help, especially knowing the stigma mentally illness exists in society.

Social workers are viewed by the world to be “fixers” in society. The general public sees social workers as just “people who work in child protective services”, they do not know about the other things that social workers are also involved in. I interviewed, Stuart Brewster, a therapist for children and families, he graduated from the university of Washington with a masters degree in social work.
Having spent the last two years working as a volunteer in the social service field, I have come to realize that my passion lies in helping people, who are in a position of less advantaged. With a view to accomplish my ambition to become a social worker I am currently taking an access to a master degree of social work.
This essay aims to explore the characteristics that make a good quality social work assessment in child care. Martin (2010) stated that there was “no single agreed definition of social work assessment.” Coulshed and Orme (2006, p24) did not offer a formal definition but they described assessment as “…a basis for planning what needs to be done to maintain, improve or bring about change in the person, the environment or both.” According to the Maclean and Harrison (2015) good assessments must be “purposeful and timely.” This is because practitioners need to be clear about why they are carrying out assessments and what it is they wish to achieve at the end of that assessment.
I had to make a very big decision on what major I should choose to study for in college. Initially, I was interested in the Human Service profession. I knew I wanted to be in some sort of service industry. I really wanted to help those who need help from the government or from the city in order to better their lives. One career I was interested in which is considered in the Human Service profession is as a foster child case worker. I always wanted to work for Catholic Charities of NY as a foster child case worker. I thought it would be nice to start a career with them.
When you think of being a human service professional, what kinds of duties and responsibilities come to mind? Which are most interesting to you? What duties would you rather avoid if at all possible?
that used to be a chef I learned the industry. My introduction to food industry was when I was 15
Introduction I have selected the movie The Hundred Foot Journey (2014) by Lasse Hallström as my review report on the film because this movie features a lot of basic principles of food commodities, food preparation and encompasses with the latest information on technology to develop better understanding of food theory that applied to generate revenue for hospitality industry. The Hundred Foot Journey was talking about an Indian guy named Hassan Kadam who was a special talent and having acquired knowledge and skill in culinary novice. When Hassan Kadam and his family are displaced from native India, which is led by Papa, they decide to set up a home in an attractively unusual French village. After they settled down, they wanted to open an Indian restaurant named Maison Mumbai.
A culinary chef has many skills and responsibilities that are not only necessary and useful, but also required to succeed. According to the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Chefs and head cooks oversee the daily food preparation at restaurants and other places where food is served. They direct kitchen staff and handle any food-related concerns.” (“Chefs and Head Cook”) I have three main reasons for choosing the culinary field. The first is I have a lot of experience with and around kitchens and I know I really enjoy the atmosphere of a kitchen. Secondly, I am talented in cooking and I have succeeded in the programs I have already been a part of for culinary. The final reason for choosing Culinary Arts is that
It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be a chef. However, if one has a passion for cooking it will pay off. I am a creative person and cooking has endless possibilities of creativity, such as the way you make it and the way you plate it. I want to become a chef and hopefully open a restaurant one day. To do that, you need to learn the basic skills. Julia Child once said, “No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.”
Have you ever tried to cook a delicious meal to impress your friends or family members? Most Americans cook despite the challenge associated with it. It takes courage and bravery to be a chef. An individual must have a passion for cooking and preparing meals from recipes. An experienced chef must have a lot of creativity on the plate and knowledge on the field. However, being a professional chef comes with many obstacles such as, standing in the kitchen for long hours can cause health problems, or the amount of stress a chef deals with can be overwhelmed, and the unhealthy eating habits that leads to overweight and over-eating.
Becoming a professional chef not only requires a thorough understanding in food preparation, but many other important points as well. Auguste Escoffier, the originator of modern foodservice wrote; "No theories, no formulae, no recipe, no matter how well written, can take the place of experience."
